VoiVoid. Mystifying for many thrash Fans. From the rawness of War and Pain to the weird and original song-structures of Killing Technology and Dimension Hatröss. They defy those who force a genre upon the band. Avantgarde? Abstract? Progressive Thrash? They are simply VoiVod. And they are awesome!

Have been a Voivod fan since the late 80s and my favorite albums are their 1st 3rd 4th and 5th but enjoy lots of their newer stuff. Timeless band they are.

Was hoping for opening riff from "Overreaction" off Killing Tech. Always something to b*tch about. Great list. I guess you've made up for omitting them from your top 100 list.

There are many debates among fans of the band, because the album diverge from as extreme as RRROOOAAARRR, to as pseudo-mainstream as Angel Rat. However, I think it's a general consensus that Killing Technology, Dimension Hatross and Nothingface are their best. Also, check out Target Earth, it's just as good.

Strange how Killing Technology was and is my favorite album of all time, since 1987; sheer genius. Aside from a few tracks off of Dimension H, and Nothing Face I completely lost interest. After finally seeing Voi Vod, I love most everything I hear, and have the luxury of over 30 years of lp's to explore. Funny how a closed mind kept me from giving Voi Vod a chance.

Voivod did what most bands only dream of doing. They grew and changed with time, but never lost sight of who they were. Enjoy your explorations, sir, there's many a hidden gem to find! TO THE DEATH!! !M!

I don't like it. I find it to be a strange experience of space noises and Eric Forrest's screams. It lacks fast songs, it lacks the interesting progression of the four albums I've mentioned, and it also lacks the catchy riffs of heavier albums like Negatron. I understand how some may like it, but for me it's a mess.

How can not be #1? This list is bullshit!!11111!!!11! In all seriousness, though, I'd have added one riff or two from Negatron, but then again, this is your list, and everyone's got their own opinion.

If I'm honest I'm not VoiVod's biggest fan so the riffs tended to come from the albums I do like. I like the weirder stuff :-)

Seems that the riffs are randomly ordered and selected. Didn't like it. I wish you'd spent more time on this list instead trying to add one more video to your channel.
@ThrashMetalRiffs5 жыл бұрын
It's impossible to do a list without spending loads of time on it. I just happened to prefer the more progressive/avantguarde stuff. I listen to every song in a discography to get riff clips and then I must admit ordering them is difficult. And it's simply down to preference at the end of the day. And really each vid should give a small insight into the band. If you like the odd riff from my list then to get a more comprehensive view on the band listen to the whole discography. The channel is designed to give you a heads up not to decide for you.
