@@stevenirwin8643 will be good game….will be more of a defensive game and will depend on how both QB’s handle the pressure; they are both young and good, and JA is also a good runner and can pass on the run as well, so will keep the defense on their toes…don’t see a blowout either way really…BOOMER!

Big talk for a team that has not won an SEC title since...?? Oklahoma had 14 big 12 championships including 6 in a ROW. We are sick of every cocky SEC team telling us how they are going to destroy us. Could we lose? Sure, but there's a SHIT TON of fight in this dog. We play to WIN every time we step on the field.

I think when you look at TN's defense vs OU's offensive struggles, it feels like a perfect game for TN to ccome out go high tempo to try and gas the OU D early on because your confident that OU's offense isn't going to perform at, imo even a good level vs TN's defense. You have the depth on D to rotate in constantly and both 1 and 2 D strings are very good and not much drop off if any at all. So it's like flipping it to auto fast offensively and just wait for that D to tire, not allowing them to sub. I think this is how this game can get out of hand early and as the game goes on TN pulls away quickly. I give this scenario for the game at about 80%. Kinda of similiar to what we did to NC State. Your D is too gassed to stop the scoring, TN gets ahead and teams start forcing the passing game to keep up and that is when you throw picks, put the ball on the ground etc.

I think you summed it up pretty well. I don’t see any clear advantages that my Sooners have over your Vols. Our D is the strength of our team. Deep, talented and opportunistic. But our boys are really beat up in the O line and receiving corps. Unless our offense has made a big jump this week (or at least as much as it made from week 2 to week 3) and gain some productivity in the run game, it’s gonna be a long game for the D. We’ve been down 3 starting O linemen and 4 of our top 5 receivers. Nic Anderson will be back on Saturday, which will certainly help. My hope is If, and that’s a REALLY BIG IF, the Sooners can play solid on offense and the D can pressure and confuse Nico, and keep the game close, his inexperience in a dog fight could possibly give the Sooners the edge late in the game. Bottom line is this, with the Sooners limping, they will need to be near perfect to have a chance.

I think that OU defense will be good enough and our QB young enough to get turnovers for real good field position or even a score or two. They will need it since their offense will have a difficult time scoring. If their D doesn't step up huge score will get out of hand. Particularly in 2nd half

@@potterna1101 I think Heupel will come in looking to gas OU's D early by of course heavy fast tempo as he did in 22. Get up huge and early, than ground pound, over the top. This is very hard on defenses no matter how good they are. Not being able to sub and than have to keep up offensively will be the toughest thing for OU if Heupel goes this route and scheme, which imo is a given for him to do. Get the crowd quiet early. And no chance they cheer for Josh when we score..lol

I’m an OU fan and a huge Josh Heuple fan! I think Tennessee will probably win the game you guys have an impressive team but OU will have a couple key players back Saturday. IDK if they will 100% and we are still missing several others. That’s part of the game though. I hope both teams come out the game with out any major injuries. If you’re coming to the game check Bricktown and the Riverwalk.

As an OU fan, I fear this game might be like OU/LSU of 2019. This offense looks scary good. I hope we can keep it close, and congrats to Vol Nation for having a Bama/Georgia level squad this year. LSU avg was ~48 in 2019. TEN avg was ~46 in 2022. This offense will likely be better than 2022’s. Not predicting a 45 pt game for UT, just adding perspective👍🏻

The real issue for OU is have their 3 other best WRs out with injury. Hoping to see Anderson back, because teams have just doubled Burks and dared us to throw anywhere else. Our young WRs have not shown yet that they can make you pay for that.

Interesting bit about Heupel and OK, Hooker had the OK media guy on earlier this week and he told the story of the lead-up to Heup leaving OK. Stoops decided he needed a different type of offense than Josh runs (something about the offense A&M ran with Johnny Manzel). Josh was asked to do it, he'd not gotten it going yet when he got fired...then the very next year, they brought in a new OC who ran...guess what...Huepel's offense! Lame!

I don't think the VOLS have run their true offense yet. They didn't need to against UTC or Kent St and ran 12 personnel against NCSt. So what Oklahoma will see is not what the VOLS has shown in previous games.

Oklahoma has a pretty solid defense and they are well coached. Dont overlook Brent Venables success at Clemson as DC. That being said, I picked Oklahoma to go 7-5 or 8-4 in preseason and I think thats what we are going to see. Dont know how they climbed up in the rankings in the off season to #15, I dobt think they are a Top 15 team. Not even top 20, but I am not going to knock it because it gives us another dominant ranked win to help pad our playoff argument. Venables is a great defensive minded coach, Oklahoma is a blue blood storied program. I think we should dominate this game after a quarter or two of it being close. Go Vols!

You will see alot of 3-3-5 this week. Zach Alley/Venables has not shown his base defense hardly at all this season. We heard all off-season about the 3-3-5 and it hasnt really been used.

OU can’t stop the run game running a 3-3-5. That leaves nobody to stop the QB runs either. If they load the box they will have to deal with the big fast WRs. UT will punt more than they have all year but that’s trouble from a field position perspective and is good for UT because the OU offense isn’t very good yet. They will make some plays though so it should be a fun game. 42-28 Vols.

Only a dummy would take OU at home lightly. If OU can 1) stop the run with 7 in the box,2) scheme to throw off our RF QB Nico so he throws a couple int maybe a pick 6 and 3) get a couple fumbles it will be tight game. TBH OU can win but they have no chance to blow out UT. OTOH UT has a about a 30% chance of blowing out OU. A lot depends on your DLineand how winded they get
