Hi, Adam here! I am happy to release this drum playthrough of our song ‘Head Mounted Sideways’ together with its 'Creator Pack'. As we release the stems of the song, I used them to record and mix the drums of this playthrough myself in my home studio. You can make your own playthrough too! It does not matter if you have access to a professional studio or if you are recording yourself in your home. Just play along and make your own cover of it. For me, drumming to this song is very demanding and requires plenty of energy throughout the whole performance. As the song takes a few emotional and dynamic turns, I have to make sure that I match the energy of those parts, making the transitions very important. I hope you will enjoy this playthrough and I hope to see you play along to this song. Best wishes! The 'Creator Pack' is available on our Bandcamp page here: volaband.bandcamp.com/ If you like to share your covers with us, use the hashtag #covervola across KZbin, Facebook & Instagram.

Those last couple minutes are a test of emotional endurance. He feels the music in his heart. Coming of that emotion high at the end is crazy. Love it!

Im glad to see all the awkward / uncomfortable / strange faces he makes. I do the same thing. When you're focusing on coordinating all your limbs to play stuff like this it's easy to forget what your face is doing, and most of the faces line up with particular beats/patterns you're doing. It's just an inevitable part of drumming.
@ansjovis993 жыл бұрын
Exactly! I used to always be ashamed of my urge to make those faces and consequently focused a lot on keeping my face neutral. It was after I went to a clinic by Matt Halpern that I decided to try and give in to the urge, and I definitely don't want to go back to before. Not having to focus on your face gives you so much spare energy and focus that you can put into playing drums, it's amazing! Also, to be honest, it just looks pretty dope to see someone do this and just become the music

JP Gaster from Clutch has similar expressions to Adam. He looks like a fish out of water when he drums and I absolutely love it. The dude looks like he's communicating with the drums in a language only he can understand

Adam you’re always so emotional while playing! Beside your outstanding technique, your personal and emotional effort is what I appreciate the most! Keep going! Cheers from Italy 🇮🇹

Hey man, saw you guys in Manchester last night. I was pointing at you at the end of the encore if you remember - I wanted to say that your playing throughout was fantastic and the improvisations at the end of Inside Your Fur were just amazing. I was pointing at you to say "I see you, I see this effort and skill and I feel it in my heart", I hope that came across somewhat :D That was the first gig I've been to in six years and I was remembering a dear friend who passed away a month ago who I went to gigs with a lot before she moved away. Thanks to the whole band for making that experience unforgettable.
