my one the motor squelches and loss of power when planting it, real bad trying to take off it crashed, if very gentle & slow on throttle it seems to work but no fun. I did put a 850 and bigger carbon prop and alloy spinner on tho. stock esc. not sure what size esc i need to upgrade to.

Hi! If you want to fly acro, 4s is great. For regular flying & gliding 3s is enough. So, I use both, 3s and 4s batteries. It depends on how I want to fly on a particular day. Thank you for watching and greetings from Slovenia.

Awesome flying. Just a quick questions. The recommended battery for this model is 3s , how does the electronics perform with 4s ? Is the stock motor , esc setup capable enough ? Or did you upgrade the electronics.

Hi, thank you. The motor can handle a 4s lipo without any issues. I would recommend you to upgrade the ESC as the stock one may fail at 4s (I still use the stock ESC though but in my ASW28, I upgraded the ESC to a 45amp one).

Nice! Its very windy though! 4s is so much better for this plane. Do you use the flaps as ailerons? I did put some crow in as with no wind the amount of landing space is huge.

I really enjoy watching your videos. You fly really very well. I really enjoy flying the Phoenix 2400 as an FPV glider . I'm thinking of buying the Lentus too. Since you have both, it would be great if you would compare the two times.

Cool, thanks 😊 Here's a short comparison: The P2400: better value, can't hold the speed (more air drag) as good as the Lentus, has a little better aileron authority, similar thermal gliding performance, doesn't look as good as the Lentus.

I went through the same thought process. Bought the Phoenix 2400 then fairly soon got the Lentus when I became bored of its performance at high speed. Haven’t regretted it at all! Much faster and efficient overall, better looking, nicer sound, similar thermal ability. Only negative (apart from the cost) is it’s a little less forgiving at the stall; mine drops a wing if I’m not careful. I fly both models FPV.

I didn't (yet?), I changed it on my ASW28 though ... So, your ESC burned out or did you change it as a preventative measure? Will see, I hope that I am not risking too much ...

Yea, the original farts on 4s. I placed a 60a, i think even 50a will do.

@@AndrejSturm Yep it did! Not as in burn up and catch fire though. It just was cutting out so I threw a HobbyKing 40A ESC in and all good now. 👍

That's good to hear, seems like the stock ESC has a good protection (overcurrent or overheating protection), so it protects itself and the BEC still works which enables you to safely land the plane.

Are you using a lrs module with the radiomaster or not.. for some reason ive been afraid to fly a plane yet with mine. Heard rumors of the range not being good without lrs.

Yes, it's a bit risky to use the stock ESC on a 4s lipo (I had no issues though). I am now using a stock motor/prop but an upgraded (more reliable) 40amp Aerostar ESC with reverse function so I can make the motor/prop spinning in reverse during flight to achieve intense braking (mostly for fun): kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGaYZYabdsd9ldE If you want to use a 4s lipo I would recommend you to upgrade the ESC to a more reliable 60amp ESC to be on the safe side. The motor has no issue running on 4s with the stock prop, all you have to upgrade is the ESC. The plane is much more fun to fly with a 4s lipo.
