You guys are killing it! A 200.00 0-coast. You sold me on my analog poly yesterday when I snagged a used XD! Been holding off waiting for a good analog poly to have as my main synth. And I’m so excited to see where I’ll end up w/the oscillator releases from everyone getting into that!! Love this synth too, the 0-Coast was a blast. Sweet patch.

Isn't the non-divided clock output connected to the woggle trigger input by default?
@TenisDimants5 жыл бұрын
Looks like it is, when disconnected nothing changes. But now I know where it is connected by default, thank you!

How do I patch the Modular so that I get a controllable tremolo and notes that end when I take my finger off the ribbon? I've tried looping function2 then sending the positive output to lpg1. However, when I touched the ribbon, it produced an endless note that was only terminated by another endless note. I don't have this problem when sending a looped function2 output to source patch points, just the lpg1/2.

For a tremolo using the LPGs (slightly coloured), try: Function2 Trigger in to Trigger out (to loop it) Function2 positive out to LPG2 Control In (Use Function2 negative out for different wave shape) LPG1 out to LPG2 Signal In LPG2 out to Space Out Signal In (knobs to taste, though LPG2 cutoff on full gives the cleanest sound) Or for a cleaner true tremolo, you can use the Utility as an voltage controlled amplifier: Function2 Trigger in to Trigger out (to loop it) LPG1 out to Utility B In Function2 positive out to Utility C In (Use Function2 negative out for different wave shape) Utility A+BxC out to Space Out Signal In (Use Utility A-BxC out for different dynamics) (knobs to taste, though make sure the Utility C Knob is turned up a bit. Sounds will start to overdrive if you turn it up far enough) Hope that helps and have fun!

I do not get it... why not just go directly out from function two?

Again? Guys, please put a light ABOVE the panel? Can't see what you're doing??

This is all very well, but what would anyone use that sound for? I've yet to see anything remotely musical out of this synth.

I run mine through effects pedals and it sounds magical.

This is some experimental/soundtrack territory, but it is possible to play any melody realy, like any other Volca as it has the touch controller keyboard. And modulate from there if you wish.

@@TenisDimants just took your advice. Gets a lot more melodic for sure

For me sounds like this got me interested in synths and i still love playing with sounds. Awesome that this offers to get a taste of that for 170 € instead of spending thousands for a modular. I could not believe when i learned that synths were invented to imitate real instruments and even what bands like emerson lake and palmer did seems like a misuse. Funny that the first use of synths as kind of lab equipment in the 1960s or earlier was sounds like that, Stockhausen for example, then i took some time until guys like Kraftwerk or Throbbing Gristle put the instruments to their real purpose. If you want "music" get a piano.
@zoned76093 жыл бұрын
@@snörre23 except there are plenty of more musical synths out there so why even suggest a piano

So basically this thing isn't for music.it's for bleeping.

it's modular so you can craft it bo be what you want. Want a growly bass it can do that, want randomized arps it can do that, want scifi effect it can do that. edit: want presets to all those modes? nope it doesn't do that.

You can easily make music with the Volca Modular (even by itself) you just gotta know how to use it.
@zoned76092 жыл бұрын
@@codeman3037 sure, except it doesn't make any sounds that I like save for a very narrow section of wavefolding. I'm sure for someone else, the music it makes can be enjoyable
