I wish they made reproductions of these that actually fired cases ammunition

I've been begging Henry for years to make a volcanic pistol look alike chambered in .22lr. They already have a great foundation to build from with their golden boy.

There was a guy who made a one off that fired a shortened .40 S&W I have his drawings downloaded somewhere.

is it possible to open the barrel and load fake bullets? for style points?
@TraywickDesigns4 жыл бұрын
Hey, not on the Volcanic. The under barrel slide is just way to small to make it functional

We need a reproduction chambered in .22
@thesmallestminorityisthein40453 жыл бұрын
Henry would be the best company to do that in America, but I'm honestly surprised the usual suspects havent done one. I'd pay good money for one with a .22LR and .22 Short lifting block.
@glimpyrimpy62583 жыл бұрын
@@thesmallestminorityisthein4045 it's blatantly obvious at this design needs to be revived.
@thomaswashburn35133 жыл бұрын
@@thesmallestminorityisthein4045 I am in the process of building one for .22 LR based on an Winchester 1873 small caliber (32-30) receiver and a .22 LR octagon barrel. Some parts I’ll need to refabricate like the elevator (to fit a .22 round) by smelting additional brass into the original elevator. Smith and Wesson came up with this idea originally and then teamed up with Henry and Winchester in the 1860’s I believe. This is what led to both the current (or until recent) Henry and Winchester repeating arms companies. They used the same elevator design until the late 1870’s or so, when they needed a new design for longer cases. It really is a novel design for a pistol (even today). Only if the cartridge was invented before this gun design.

I’ve heard these were terrible guns, even for the time. Still pretty cool though
@TraywickDesigns9 ай бұрын
Yep, very much. Required 2 hands to cock, so not much of a pistol and not very powerful. But hey, sometimes style is all you need:)

This is the 1840s version of the Taurus Judge, cool concept, badass looking, but very useless in reality
