Whenever someone asks me about my music taste, I make them watch this video 😂 in 2014, a friend and I flew to Milwaukee to see Volcano Choir at Turner Hall. We were front row and talked to Chris. The show was transcendent. After Byegone, I point at Justin and said “you!” He pointed back and said “not me, you!” 😭😭😭. In 2018, I went to Berlin to see him play with Big Red Machine. I don’t have words to describe what his music means to me ❤

I've been watching this a few times a week since I first discovered it. It's even better than the recorded version, and so much passion comes through each one of them. Really doesn't get old. I especially love: - How overjoyed Chris (the acoustic guitarist) looks throughout the entirety of the recording - The gorgeous videography - How Justin looks like he just rolled out of bed and still puts on a performance like THAT

For all of those who are wondering, Justin is using a Korg Nano Kontrol Series 1 MIDI Controller. It's patched through the computer which is running the Antares Harmony Pack plug-in through Ableton Live. So he's essentially controlling the computer's MIDI output without having to do it on the computer - which would be literally impossible. Not sure the model he's using is available through most outlets but Korg put out a Nano Series 2 that does the same stuff with some added features. And for the record I'm preeeetty sure there's no auto-tune on this, it just sounds like it with the added choir effect.

Does anyone else think this song may be about Star Wars Episode 4 - A New Hope? Specifically, how everyone feels about Han Solo? Crazy! Stupid! I get it, but just hear me out. I'm not saying the ENTIRE song is about such, but how about the very last part. "They say you ain't a comrade. Still I'd know you'd come back. For a folly-ridden Romeo. You break down a fortress now." Sounds like Luke talking about Han Solo. How Han came back to help him destroy the Death Star, even though everyone said Han couldn't be trusted. Luke is the "folly-ridden Romeo" in this case. "Standing out in public, stained with your conscience." At the very end of the film, Luke, Han and Chewbacca are indeed "standing out in public" receiving their medals for their heroics against the Death Star. "I know that you love me, you are just lawless, son." This is Princess Lea taking about Han. "Give it another fortnight. Eye to eye the culprit..." The rest of the song uses auto-tune, and sounds a bit like a robot voice. This part could be Darth Vader's thoughts on what went down at the end of the film. ALSO, at the beginning of the song, the line "And that silent head grip. Can't do it no more." sounds a lot like Darth Vader describing his force-choke on one of the admirals. What do you think???
