He had slain more enemies than a man had seen days, led an army of kin against a tyrannical dragon, and even fought alongside a god. However, the broiling planes of Ruin were a true challenge. Large haphazard pillars of stone rose from the churning sea of lava and liquid flame, somehow surviving the onslaught of heat. Fiery serpents swam among the sea of flame, devouring hot pieces of rock that had broken off from the pillars. In the distance, two kneeling statues of huge Azers, dwarves native to Ruin that had a tolerance for extreme temperatures. Therein lay his goal. He jumped from rock to rock with uncharacteristic nimbleness, timing his jumps between the fountains of lava. He felt the heat wash over him each time, yet gritted his teeth and continued on. The massive volcano in the distance, Firedrake's Fang, belched out smoke and rock, rumbling as it did. The rumbling increased, and suddenly, a massive claw rose from the open mouth of the mountain. A dragon of incomprehensible size spread its wings as it pulled itself from the volcano. It let out a roar, shaking the Hammerking's very soul, and both its hellish eyes affixed themselves on him. It let out another bellow, taking to the sky towards the dwarf, who drew his hammer and sword. Today would not be the day he died.

I was looking at terrain for D&D and got inspired to look for backround noise for a lava themed dungeon. Thank you for making this, this us just what I was wanting. It reminds me of the Fire Temple from Ocarina of Time. 👍

While I am late to the party posting this, I'm glad to finally add this to the comment section You have entered The Deep Forge. Description: The Deep Forge is a large and previously abandoned forge built miles underground to harness the heat of the Earth by the long dead civilization that shaped our world. What it was to be used for is unclear but on the basis of the sheer size of the chambers and the ruins of the defunct forges its clear that whatever they were going to use this smithy for was massive in size and complexity. The forge itself is in severe disrepair due to millennia of volcanic activity and no upkeep, in spite of the Dwarfs best efforts to repair the forge none of their attempts have even slowed the decay. The forge isn't expected to last much longer before the last furnace loses its flow of magma shutting down the forge until the last of it plunges into the same magma that powered it for so long.

"Once, a long time ago, this forge atop an active volcano was the birthplace of uncountable great works, for everyone to see, but without order, rhyme or reason. Then came one zealous dwarf and crafted a machine he called an 'algorithm' to bring order to the works of the other dwarves. We asked ourselves if he was mad, evil or just incompetent as his vile apparatus sprung to life and started to tear through the forge, breaking down the pillars that held up its ceiling since the Age of the First Dwarves. What was supposed to bring the most amazing works of the brightest blacksmiths to the forefront instead brought naught but destruction and despair. The forge was abandoned, and all that is left now are ruins of former glory that are slowly being eaten by the molten earth below. Sometimes, if you are brave enough to enter this place, you can still hear the construct of destruction aimlessly rattling through the depths, searching for something else to tear to shreds..."

I gotta say. Volcano Dungeon is way more chill than I expected. This place is pretty nice. I could set up some condos, and make a killing in real estate here. This neighborhood has "family-friendly" written all over it. I swear these hot coals that magma spirit just gave me are supposed to be the fire elemental equivalent of cookies.
