Voldemort not wanting the Deathly Hallows really shows his character. He didn't want the stone because there's nobody he wanted to bring back and because he's afraid of the Dead, you didn't want the invisibility cloak because there was no purpose to him having it and the Elder Wand he was always of the opinion that the magic that he does was of his creation that it was him that did such an amazing things. He was truly blind to everything he was so afraid of death that he ignored Dumbledore's warnings and proceeded to rip his soul apart to avoid death, be good to death and death will be good to you

The way I interpreted it from the book, Voldemort didn't know about any of the deathly hallows until Ollivander told him about it while being tortured. And even if he did know, he couldn't have gotten it from Dumbledore because he was scared of him.

Lord Voldemort didn’t know about the Elder wand. Not until after The Battle of The 7 Potters. He thought he could use any wand besides his own to defeat Harry, that’s why he took Lucius Malfoys. But once that wand was also destroyed Voldemort knew he had to step his game up. It wasn’t until torturing Ollivander that he even found out about the Elder Wand. Dumbledore didn’t think Voldemort would find out about the Elder Wand. That’s why he planned for Snape to become the Master

Voldemort could have used the elder wand as a means to gloat, literally giving it to the people dueling against him proving in more ways than one he is more powerful. He could have used the resurrection stone to either seek out forgotten knowledge from long dead wizards, as well as use the stone as a means of torture. He can continuously bring his victims back to finish them again. The cloak of invisibility simply be used on nigini, or to hide his horecruxes.

I disagree. Considering a narrative perspective, Tom Riddle is set apart from other Dark Lords like Palpatine, Morgoth and Sauron by two things: 1. He cannot love. We don't know if any of the other Dark Lords are capable of love, but Rowling made it clear, that Voldemort was defeated by love again and again. Love and the willing sacrifice for the loved ones. 2. He fears his own death. His death is the thing he wanted to prevent with all his actions. Now, death is a thing, that can be prevented by a lot of things in the Harry Potter universe: Unicorn blood, Horcruxes, the possession of the deadly hollows. Voldemort used all those to stay alive. Why would he not try to get the Deathly Hollows as well, then? Doesn't sound very right.

Well the biggest reason is that Rowling probably didn't think of the Hallows until around book 5. No seriously though, even in storyline it doesn't come off as something Voldemort would feed into. The Elder wand might interest him, but I don't know if it would have been a strong enough desire for him to pursue. The resurrection stone wouldn't have interested him at all, the only person of relevance Voldemort ever cared about that's dead is Slytherin, and again who knows if his desires would have been that strong. He would have cared least of all about the cloak, for surely he wouldn't think an invisibility cloak could truly hide someone from death, and that's the only appeal it would have ever had for him.

Lol right? A knife in the dark, a snipers bullet from half a mile away, an rpg... I mean, moldy voldy didn't really think of those, but I don't really see wizards exactly being able to defend against bullets or rockets (which fire a whole lot faster than they are shown in games) and sneak attacks with blades is always a good option. Just track Harry down with their connection, find his camp and break the charms and kill Hermione silently while she's on guard, and sneak in and stick a knife between his ribs while he's sleeping... And Grindelwald wasn’t ever mentioned to have been a practitioner of that dark magic. Apart from the unforgivable curses, and some others that would be considered dark but not at the point of horcruxes and inferi, he didn’t really delve that deep as far as we know so far. I think Grindelwald was better all round.

Actually. I think the Wand would reject Voldemort. As it actually happened in the story. The Wand seems to change alligiance for ANY reason. Even the most idiotic ones, since it left Malfoy, without being close and the Wand with "no way of knowing it". So I think that given its strange powers, the Wand would arrange for Voldemort's death. And switch back to Harry, since the Wand seemed to actually like him.

i think a better reason is security. just read the story of its first user, he was unbeatable in a duel so what happened? he was murdered in his sleep. now imagine what would happen if voldemort, the dark lord who surrounds himself with people who largely only follow him to gain power by proxy or out of fear of his power, were to wield the elder wand. here is what happens: one of those guys will try to stab him in the back to take the wand. and sure voldemort is a master of legilimency, so he would be able to catch and exterminate most traitors easily but maybe he does not want to have to kill a third of his forces when he has a war going on. also keep in mind that opportunity makes thieves, so even death eaters who are not planning to betray the dark lord might be tempted to do so when that opportunity arises. and while voldemort is not concerned about dying because of his hocruxes, he still very much prefers to have a properly functioning body. also voldemort wants people to fear voldemort, not the elder wand and by performing these feats time and time again under his own power he consistently proves HIMSELF superior.

He was expecting something to happen. You know how the golden snitch had the resurrection stone in it and harry had to breath on it for it to reveal the engravings “I open at the close”. He expected something, he didn’t know what. In the book, Harry knew as well and purposefully breathed on it later in grimmauld place because he knew he caught the snitch with his mouth but the minister didn’t obviously.

Now if it changes alegences the way it does this means that it could never be his nor did malfoy have anything to do with the switch to Harry. Makes more sense to me that it switched to Harry because Harry beat voldemort twice and just survived death granting his blood protection to all at hogwarts. This would make him far more powerful voldy who just took it from a dead guy and like I said beaten by its former owner and a teenager twice.

I don't know if Grindelwald wouldn't have been able to create one inferi. After all, he wanted to use the stone to raise an army of them... I feel it is far more likely that he was able to create one or two but that it took a lot of energy and he couldn't do it on the scale Voldemort did. Furthermore, Voldemort never used his inferi really in battle but I think Grindelwald wanted to be able to raise them immediately in battle, maybe from fallen opponents.

Snape mentioned that Voldemort has used inferi in the First Wizarding World, but the way he talks about it, it doesn't really gives me the feeling they were used in large scale conflicts. I think it was more used in traps. Like, he kills someone, turns their body into an inferi, ready to attack anyone who might enter the home, cast the Dark Mark above the building and presto, trap is set. But that's my headcanon of things. The only thing we are certain and what my initial point was, I don't think (nor find evidence) that Voldemort was the first and only wizard who managed to create inferi. I do consider it possible that he perfected the technique though.

There is simply no evidence for this in the books and seeing how this kind of reasoning has earned him the label of being the second wizard to create a horcrux after Herpo, while there is evidence to the contrary about that, I don't take such reasonings as evidence. So unless expanded media or JK herself confirm him as the inventor of the art, I see no reason to think he is. As for his ability to raise an army of the dead... We never seen him do this though, while in the Battle of Hogwarts, there was plenty of death that he could have used that way and there was no reason for him to call a temporary ceasefire. He could let his troops rest for a moment, while the dead took over. He didn't do this, leading me to the belief that even for him, raising army is a process he can't pull off quickly (he can do it, he has an army of inferi in the cave but this likely took time and some very complex rituals/spells).

Albus Dumbledore is the most powerful wizard of all time. Voldemort achieved feats of dark magic that evil wizards would do, so Albus not doing these doesn’t make him less since he most likely could but never needed or wanted to delve that far into dark magic since he wasnt a dark wizard.

To be fair for any dark wizard the hallows wasn’t that tempting to begin with like voldemort can make himself invisible and had no one he wanted to get back from death and lastly he saw death as weakness so anyone who died didn’t deserve the effort to revive him Only the wand because he understood power wrong and JK showed that by making the elder wand master always lose

I think its simple its the "deathly hallows" so i am Sure He knew that they still are connected to death If the Stories and folktales from HP are true within the world of Harry Potter. If he was not such idiot he was look for the deatly halloews and not hide his soul and split to peaices. He was really strong wizerd but in the same time he wasnt so smart to acctuelly be able control and rule the magic world. Thats why he lose twice and die in the end. If he was smart he was sending one of his death eater to get rid of the potters, not going alone, thats the night he lose first time, and he wasnt able to acctuelly get that part of his soul in harry potter.

​@@SigalDa The deadly hallows does not grant immortality. To master death means to accept it which is what Voldemort considered to be shameful human weakness. Voldemort promised Snape that Lilly would have a chance to live if she step aside, so it would not matter if it was him or his followers who came to kill the potters... Lilly refused to step aside and that activated the protection on Harry which was universal magic.

If the elder wand changes alliance to a stronger wizard why didn't it change its alliance to voldemort when Harry was it's owner we know he was no where near the strength of voldemort

Because he wasnt defeated by him. Its a very weird concept and i dont really love how harry got mastery over it by using muggle ways such as wrestling the wand off Draco, i think it should at least be magical victory but it happened and gotta accept what’s written i guess.

I’m going to say that Voldemort was probably #3 or #4 bc Harry, Grindewald and Albus would probably defeat him. That’s another reason he never would’ve sought the Hallows.

Harry wouldn’t defeat Voldemort lmao, Harry is just an average wizard. In the end, it was Voldemort who killed himself anyway, Harry didn’t defeat him. Harry would be destroyed by Voldemort without his mother’s sacrificial protection, wand core protection, elder wand refusing Voldemort and refusing to harm harry. In a fair fight, Voldemort would wipe the floor with Harry, he would literally stand no chance.

Watching this video made me wonder something. How would Dumbledore fare against Voldemort if he didn’t have the Elder wand but his original wand ( even though I don’t know what his original wand was. ).

Grindewald Lost the duel against Dumbledore even having the Elder wand. Dumbledore wasnt powerful because of the Elder wand, he was powerful that's why he got It

Maybe the Resurrection stone in the Gaunt family ring heirloom is why he was able to raise Inferi? Moldy Voldy never actually used Inferi after losing the heirloom to Dumbledore. So he wouldn't actually have been more powerful than Grindelwald. Rather he already possessed what Grindelwald wanted. I can't see Voldemort as more than Grindelwald. For one, Dumbledore never tries to stop him. He didn't stop Grindy either but that was because of their blood pact. Voldy had no such blood pact with Dumby. Secondly, Voldy just seems like a moron to me. He left his ring horcrux in his mother's childhood home and the rest of his horcruxes in almost as equally obvious spots just for sentimentality. Not to mention his obsession with cult-building and weird ceremony. He really comes off more as a grand delusionist than a powerful mastermind. Whereas Grindelwald, although seemingly obsessed with children's folk tales, has actual coherent political aspirations that might make sense if you're a bit of a sociopath.
