when i first watched that i thought to myself: " how many americans know about that". i found not, not many.

They don't want to know. They prefer to live in their bubble. You know: my car, my house and my boat. They are afraid of losing everything. In Germany, we always say that if you tell the truth, you need a damn fast horse.

@@TelegraWilli66 LOL that is a quote from an ad for a bank. But okay, I guess that describes kapitalism pretty well. Because it says your belongings aren't enough, you could have more. You can never be happy. No, Americans don't know it because no news outlet ever informs about that. It is not just the people who are ignorant but also the media hiding it on purpose. E.g. how much do we know about the war in Sudan or Lybia? Almost nothing. But we know everything in detail about GAZA and Ukraine. It is all biased and the whole "3000 Americans are 10x more worth than 1mil..." comes from there. So also kinda yes, Americans are extremely ignorant, but being a bit less ingorant is not better. We act like 1k refugees from Africa a day are too much for Europe but 1mil from Ukraine are no problem. To put it into perspective: Africa is a continent twice the size of Russia and 1.4bil people. And a few hundreds a day (mostly politically persecuted or fleeing from war) means that they all want to come to Europe? How ignorant are we ourselves?! We are way too unaware of most stuff and rather participate in a cultural war of pronouns that is completely irrelevant. Because if someone would want to be called in a different way, what's the problem? Just as an example. But it is easier to point the blame finger on someone else who is even worse^^

For clarification, spilling hot coffee on an Americans trousers costs as much as 13.500 Afghan lives, based on the case of the first lawsuit google spit out about such a case which was rewarded by 2,7 million dollars which the plaintiff received in damages.

Volker Pisper's cabarett isn't nice. Funny, in a really dark, cyncial way, definitely. Eye opening: 100%. But FUN it isn't. Funny, yes, FUN, no. For that it is far too on point.

Is Putin still in office? Really? He's the bloke who started the first European war for 70 years with the invasion of Ukraine in '22 - to us here in Europe this is *the* current war... it's *really* close... it's the reason NATO changed it's basic strategy and is redeploying assets towards Lithuania, its (and our) north-eastern flank. It's the reason why, after 20-odd years of ignoring the reality now at long last people are starting to refer to him as "the Russian Dictator Vladimir Putin". But honestly - if I'd be living with the media setup of the US I'd probably be asking similar questions - I don't intend to throw shade at you! If it sounded like this I'm very sorry - but this war is exceedingly paranoia-causing to me because there have been incidents already where EU member states took cross-border hits from accidental munitions gone astray... and those are also NATO members... should this escalate at some point into the neighbouring states it's going to an "Article 5" or "casus foederis" which would put NATO on war footing with Russia... Nevertheless and my personal paranoia aside a great reaction to one of the very best of German political cabaret. Best regards Raoul G. Kunz

@@generalsaufenberg4931 I was aware that the Yugoslav succession/secession (it's a matter of perspective, I tend to think succession, not secession) wars would come up. The reason I've not listed them was, well a) so as not to complicate things further in elaborating my "whys" and b) (here's the "why") because none of "The Powers" (meaning not only the superpowers but also players like the EU) where directly involved. Yes, I'm aware that it carried old historical patterns like Serbia being Russia's preferred player or Croatia gathering unofficial support by it's K.u.K. connections) but still the involvement of the Powers was never to the degree of openness in a classical proxy war as it's now. And I'm aware of the fact that there was *completely* unofficial "input", or just "opinions" by German and (especially)Austrian Staff Officers into things like Operations Flash and Storm by the Croatian Forces in '95. Still, the current conflict is much closer to the "American War" in Vietnam than to Afghanistan in '79 exempli gratia. I'm still thankful that you brought it up. I just didn't want to complicate things further. Probably made me look like a dork, but hey...😓 Best regards Raoul G. Kunz

The Mujahadeen in Afghanistan were the only people in the world who were actually shooting at the Russians during the Cold War. When the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan the Mujahadeen resisted and were the only people to try to do it. The U.S. covertly armed them so that they had a chance against the common enemy and the Afghans eventually won, forcing the Soviets to retreat and abandon the invasion. My opinion is that, that was the beginning of the fall of the Soviet Union and we have the Holy Warriors of Afghanistan to thank for it. They were the only ones to stand up to them. Eventually those same Holy Warriors, armed and supported by the U.S. became the scapegoats of 9/11, so Bush could lash out at someone.
