I owned a diesel 2002 Peugeot Partner, and it was a real workhorse. Drove around with a trailer attached for about 3 years while building my house. And it was cheap to maintnance. Sadly sold it for a VW, and the damn thing has been more in the workshop during 1 year than my old Peugeot did under 7 years.

The cargo space is calculated only up to the level of the windows. If it has no windows, then the cargo can be built above the level of the windows and the practical space almost doubles.

You have to look under the cars more often. My work car is a Seat Alhambra 4drive - without spare wheel.

Very delicate review, Marek. )) As a snobby person (St. Petersburg is the Official City of Snobs here in Russia) I can tell that interior is a perfect as it is boring. I just love these airvents. They make me smile. Windows in the reardoors look like an aircraft illuminators from inside. It is not the car to feel pride of course, but the look makes me feel really comfortable and calm. And I just like this feeling.

Wow I love the red! And very sporty look to. I have a Caddy conversion so I can drive from my wheelchair. It’s a little underpowered at 1.6 TDI but very economical to. Only issue is driving in the slighted wind causes it to shake somewhat! I’m in love with VWs and hope my next will be the same brand.

Well, in this segment PSA was the best. From the old Citroen 2CV vans up to Berlingo and Partner, they are simpler, lighter and more reliable than the German competitors.

Hy Marek, I need to change car. First off all I need more trunk space and, since I moved, a better traction on snow. What would you suggest? I need reliability, I do 70-100km daily ( highway and city) I know it not a great description but since you are in the business..... Could it be something from Japan? Sims that they are the most reliable

You haven't tested the Transit Connect Grand Tourneo, I don't think. It's pretty much a direct competitor to the Caddy maybe. I went to sit in one at our local dealer and the first thing that struck me was how narrow the front seats felt. I'm not especially large! But I did wonder how a long journey would feel in the nether regions...

There is no way to put 2 euro palets in that car. Even if you take the seats out, its width is only 110 cm as you said.

with that money I would've bought Toyota hilux, which has same cargo open space, and can tow the Caddy with brakes fully locked, in a such tough terrain where caddy has no chance to survive after being towed. And it has a full size spare tire as well.

the concept of a Caddy alltrack is just stupid. I always asked myself why people hate so much German car. Is it because they can't afford them? and they feel their cheaper choice is much better ? after all they bought it, they cannot be wrong .
@seriousbe8 жыл бұрын
That price is incredibily high, you could buy three Dokkers for that amount of money...
@MarekDrives8 жыл бұрын
As a workhorse for a handyman I'd probably buy a Dacia, but Dokker is not exactly family friendly.

I considered the Caddy Alltrack as my next car. But the fact it doesn‘t have a spare tire is a deal breaker for me. I knew that the name „Alltrack“ is mostly show and it has only very limited offroad skills. And i could live with that. But only offering a cheap an ineffective breakdown kit instead of a real spare tire is not ok! Damn it VW! That‘s Bullshit. You‘re risking more and more your credibility.

The vw caddy is a proper workhorse, the berlingo/partner is just cheap... Even the fuel cap is prone to fail!
