I really like this. I’ve had a few Octavia vrs in the past but I prefer this over the new vrs that’s coming out. May have to pop to vw tomorrow now!

Great review and I agree with your points on the red bar not being fixed at the front when the car is off. Its great that it does appear when driving but when stationary it is hard to differentiate this from a Golf R or any other Golf model a little bit. My OCD is also not happy with the front vents not being symmetrical so good spot but that's not a deal breaker and overall the car is a great little facelift upgrade from the MK8 👍

Agreed. No red line, makes this car looks normal. GTI redline is so iconic, many cars follow them.

I agree about the gloss black section on the grill and unmatched intake vents and the seats in that car should be standard. The rest of the car I think is great and I like those wheels

Well i actually love everything about this car apart from the gloss black everywhere including the central console & dash + the amount of gloss on that front bumper would worry me from the point of view of scratches + no red band across the front im with you on that one sacrilege not having that across the front!!!😱😬 Nice little video young lady!!👌🏻👍🏻

@@AutoSocialUK I am a complete nerd when it comes to looking at car reviews. In fact I may even have an addiction to keeping up to date with what is happening around the World in the car market. It looks as though future GTI and R badges will transition into the EV space. We definitely live in interesting times in the auto industry. @@AutoSocialUK I’ve heard the Volkswagen group in general has had a rethink about charging headlong into EV’s that are declining in sales and have extremely poor resale value. I’m sure they’re going ahead with releasing more EV models across the brands but this may see (hopefully) a reprieve for cars like the Golf, I know I’d want to be very sure about it before knocking that model on the head.. In a side subject I’ve always been a particular fan of the second generation Tiggy and it’s facelift but the direction they’re going with their drive chains in especially is leaving me quite unimpressed. They should continue with the EA888 in 180kw and ‘R’ spec, they sell a lot of the R Line spec cars here which all of the all wheel drive versions get the 180kw, you can get the front drive ‘R’ Line car here but it only has the 1.5 litre engine and that doesn’t fly around here much.

Another great review and critique of the car! I like the exterior design - it looks aggressive but manages to retain classiness. One thing that I'm not a fan of is the front LED light bar running between the light clusters. Not sure about the illuminated brand logo trend too. One day it might grow on me.

I think my club sport 45 looks far better. I also prefer the haptic buttons, easier to keep clean and I have no issues using them. Not keen on the wheels. Hopefully they keep making them!

It's a great looking car. But it always annoys me, when the top of the range cars still have to upgrade the car. My car was the top spec, but still had a £600 paint option and a must £1500 wheels upgrade.

And yeah, you are right ... the front grill "plays in another movie" ... and the lack of the red line - it's a minus (but the owners will solve it in the first day after buying the car ... obviously 😃). Also, I might add the black exterior for the roof - not very aware of the reality of physics (the colour black attracting & colecting the thermic energy from the sun ... transforming the cabin in an oven 😃) ...

My mk 7 Clubsport has the gear stick selector which you can push over to the left and push up and down to select the gears if you wish, why they done away with that for a little lever I don’t know.

VW best good joke 😂😂😂😂😂 After my Golf GTI mk7.5 Performance rusted after 3 years and VW did not accept the warranty I will never buy a VW again. I will add that I have never had a car other than VW and VW says that it gives a 10-year warranty against bodywork rusting, which is a BIG LIE.
