This is a second version of a previous cars and colors comparison. This time without that annoying windy sound. Another thing that has to be mentioned is that this video is recorded in full hd 1080p mode @ 25 fps. Next time I'll use a 50 fps mode. Going back to the main topic, the main goal of this video is to present you two Golfs standing next to each other. It's the best way to see the differences, that are not so obvious for the people who aren't so deep into motorization. Also, it's a comparison of the two colors, that are; United Grey Metallic ('11 Golf MK6) and Limestone Grey ('13 Golf MK7). Many people wonder how this color (Limestone Grey) look like in reality. Here's the answer :) Even better- compared to the well known United Grey color. What's need to be added is, that the '11 Golf MK6 is a Comfortline version of equipment and the '13 Golf MK7 is a Highline version of equipment. MK6 stands on 16 inch Atlanta rims with 205/55 R16 Michelin Energy tyres, the MK7 stands on 17 inch Dijon rims with 225/45 R17 Pirelli P7 Cinturato tyres. Greets.

WOW that's an astonishing engineering change !!! VW has changed the shape of the fuel filler door.It simply amazes me to what depth VW will go to bring these massive changes from one series to the next.

Having owned both, and still have a mk6 and 7 in the house, personally the mk6 is the better package. The mk7 has some great tech, ACC is amazing, but very much feels a mass produced car, built down to a price. Interior trim is not as well wearing (55k and 5 years old, seats are wearing thin). Everything in the mk6 feels heavier, more sturdy, and better built. Even just the shutting of the doors, the mk6 just feels better, feels more put together to me

Tommy S Mk6 definitely has better sound insulation for road and wind noise, but Mk7 is more louder but the engine is quieter

After 3500 km and generally in rush hour traffic,its fuel consumption is beetween 7 and 8 liter but to be honest i drive a little bit aggressively.I've loved Golf 7's acceleration and comfort.

I also think the old one looks better because the grille is larger and the profile is less boxy. The new one looks slightly more pedestrian. But the interior and lighter MK VII is tempting.

I love all golfs... I have the mkvi and I have to say that it is not a fair comparison. The golf vi is a lower trim level. High trim levels on golf vi have cherry red tail lights and more chrome on the front. Anw, I love them. Golfs always look better in person.

How was your MK6? Any problem with the timing chain? Oil eater? Any other problems?

@@blueperspective Actually, it is MK7 - 2013 Comfortline DSG and still with us. We haven't experienced any timing chain problem so far and should be changed in 180.000 km. Pros -) amazing performance. -) comfortable to drive. -) better than most cars in its class in order to consume fuel ' 130.000 km and 6 - 6.5' Cons -) in second or third year, whole dsg system was changed due to wearing out. We drove this car in heavy traffic with kind of hill road. After the consultation with service, when come across with heavy traffic, we shift triptonic gear and no problem so far. -)Oil eater - Big Yes :) even in second year, oil lamp lighted before the service. Every year getting worse but it is not a big deal for us. We add some 5W30 Castrol oil when the light on. I also investigated this problem and learnt that normal for this car. You can ask, if you wanna learn specific case in Golf7. Bye the way, i'm going to go to tire service tomorrow and change to Michelin this time instead of Continental.

The right hand edge of the tailgate on the Mk7 does not line up properly with the rear light, what a shame. I prefer the look of the Mk6, I really don't like the way they have reversed the sweep of the bonnet so now it is high in the middle and sweeps down to the outer edges it looks to bulky, I much prefer the mk5 and mk6 bonnet where the outer edges sweep down into the centre. Also I don't like the pointyness off everything, i.e rear lights, side mirrors, they look almost gothic in appearance

I have owned a MK5 & MK6 GTI & although they are great cars I feel the MK7 is not a big enough change visually (I know about the great new MQB platform etc) for me to justify another one.The MK6 looks cleaner, the MK7 looks squashed & with all the pointy angles it looks a bit too fussy! Sorry, VW, I have just ordered a BMW 125i M Sport. I love GTI's with all my heart,but I will see what the Mark 8 looks like lol - which at current VW timescales will be in 2017!! VW replace models too often too!

Czy najładniejsze to nie powiem ale na pewno najlepiej zaprojektowane. Są poprawne ale we wszystkim i dlatego ludzie je kupują. Oczywiście mam na myśli zwykłe szare cywilne odmiany a nie te usportowione które dają frajdę nawet po 20 latach jak np mk5 gti a r32 to już youngtimer pełną gęba ze swoim vr6.

@@pjoter5398 tak. Ale koncepcja klasycznego, charakterystycznego hatchback jest nakreslona przez giugiaro w latach 70. De Silwa to mistrz, jego projekty są piękne. Uważam, że golfy V, VI, VII są piękne. Mają idealne proporcje, nie starzejaca się stylistykę, są niepowtarzalne.

A lot of salty mk6 owners in the comments with their dick in a knot trying to justify owning a second-rate car. The mark 7 is obviously the superior car in terms of performance, tech and or course looks. Just a overall nicer more sophisticated grown up appearance. The mk6 looks bubbly and juvenile.

@@farhaan100 it’s funny because the cars with issues are the ones made in Germany. Timing chains and timing chain tensioners, wastegate rattle, water pump/ thermostat, blown turbos, DSG mechatronic units, electric issues galore and, extreme carbon buildup. All being very common issues. The only known problem on the mk7 are the water pumps and you still get 100k out of them.

Disappointed by the design of Mk7. Outgoing model with rounded courses is much better and sportier. I don't what the hell happened to the car designers in 2013. They all came up with crapy designs such as the new Bmw1, new Ford focus, new passant cc, new Honda civic they are all anything but sportier or better looking Thant the outgoing models. The only real improvements come from Mercedes which made from a boring car such as the old A class the hottest hatch in the market right now
