Vehicle fires in the #vanagon scene are just as common as breaking down... Unfortunately #volkswagen did not really think out the fuel delivery system . Most of it consists of " cut to fit " rubber lines that tend to run extremely close to HIGH temp components like the exhaust system .Due to the new fuel chemistry we currently have its become common to replace you fuel lines every two years to avoid a potential fire .
‪@GoWestyCamperProducts‬ has developed a clean and simple fix to the factory plastic firewall bushing for the fuel system .
‪@VanAgain‬ has put together a neat little package with everything you need to upgrade your tired old fuel delivery system .

i think the german clamps are called Oetiker clamps. definitely much better than chinese band clamps. also a gates 5/16 25 ft hose part no 27340 30R14T2 goes for about 80bucks. 15ft p/n 27348 for less.

Van Cafe sells fuel line by the foot, I have to do this to my 85 westy. are those the OEM fuel rails that are plastic?

Thanks for the information! I haven’t purchased anything from that vendor yet. I’ll take s peek at the website! Yes those are the OEM full rails and yes they are plastic. I am going to pick up the Mansi speed versions in the future . I believe they are billet aluminum?

Does the return line also go into/through a firewall adapter, then on towards the tank with a hard line?
