I like videos like this. I would like to see how you heat and extract the broken bolts. Great subject. I'm looking forward to the series.

I remember when you bought this , cause I guess what it was by seeing a tiny area of the wheel and fender 😎. Have a merry Christmas coming up

I loved my VW Rabbit. The only thing I didn't care for was the fuel tank was on the passenger side. I had a diesel and back then diesel could be hard to find. Luckily most diesel hoses would reach across the back and over the side of the car to the fuel fill. I miss that car so much. 50 plus mpg and not a hibird. That's why I think if they used a diesel engine in a hibird it could get way better mpg then what we have now. They could build a diesel engine optimized to run at a certain rpm that could run a generator to recharge the battery and provide some direct power to the electric motor above the battery amount and maybe a cvt to help boost power when needed. I took a small trip that was on a mixture of hiway and back roads. About 132 miles, I filled the tank before I left and again as I pulled into the town I was going to, I was shocked when I had a hard time getting 2 gallons in the tank. I had 2 - 3 friends that were into VW diesels. They each owned several and they kept buying them up as they came available. They told me that I could get even better mpg if I replaced the 4 speed with a 5 speed. I mostly used it to drive back and forth to work and I never wanted to down it to try and swap the transmission out. Unfortunately many of them are rusted beyond repair or have been scrapped for one reason or another.

The Diesels were the stuff of legends. last forever, Will run on ATF fluid, Used Motor Oil, diesel, kerosene, and pretty much anything else. I owned a 1981 VW Diesel during the 08 downturn and got good at finding used veggie oil to run mine on.
