To add more insight on Sehjos 3rd years. That was the last game most of them will ever play together. They’ve been a team together for 3 years, some for even longer than that, but now they probably won’t play in a real tournament together again. I also love how emotional Oikawa was in this scene. Normally he’s kind of a jerk and doesn’t always show good leadership, but he definitely cares about them beyond just the game and the court and that’s really special. Question: now that you’ve seen and met a bunch of new characters and players in season 2, what/who would be your ideal starting line up? Has it changed from season 1? ( You can include a pinch server and back up setter too if you would like. Since both of those types of players were pivotal this season). Also those haters are incredibly ignorant. I’m here for the Haikyu reactions. I don’t play volleyball so most of your other content doesn’t interest me, but I also respect that you enjoy all aspects of volleyball, not just one show about it. ''Stop hitting for real Oikawa'' It's similar to that scene where Karasuno are playing with a PSP and they drop it by accident so they reuse the animation from the last point vs Aoba Johsai in Season 1 when they try to catch it for comedic effect.

Hey Coach, just to correct something, at 26:45 when Shimada (Yamaguchi's mentor) talks about Yamaguchi going to see Ukai on his own, he's talking about the young Coach Ukai. Remember that on this very same day of the Seijoh match, during the Wakunan game earlier when Coach Ukai was tending to Daichi who was out of the game, Yamaguchi chickened out from his float serve and played it safe. Coach Ukai was especially mad at him for wasting his opportunity but Ennoshita stopped him and said that Yamaguchi already knew he fucked up by running away. After the match, Yamaguchi sought out Coach Ukai on his own to go apologize and to assure that he won't waste the next chance he gets. That's what Shimada means by saying that Yamaguchi is already being a different player after the Wakunan match (even though everything happened in the same day), because he recognized his cowardice and gained the strength to overcome it.

We appreciate what you do and keep up the good work, we will support you wholeheartedly

Having edited countless videos for mine and my friends' channels, it's really disheartening to see people posting hateful comments on your videos. Thanks for everything you do Coach! I've been watching your Haikyuu reactions since the beginning, and thanks to them, I'm branching out into your jump training videos and improving every day for my beach volleyball tournaments. Your content is really insightful and challenges me to push past my limits, both physically and mentally, and are one of the reasons I'm healthy again after 2 whole years of sitting at home.

Your last favourite moment from season 2 is my absolute favourite moment in all of Haikyuu overall. That set Oikawa did was just absolutely amazing. I never get tired of watching that scene over and over again and get goosebumps every time.

What i posted on your video on E6: Gazeth Sonica 9 months ago "Please dont let what gets you views take precedence over what you like to do. The haikyuu crowd (including me) will inflate your numbers which is nice, but don't get depended on it. Ive seen youtubers fall and crumble chasing the sudden spike of viewer they'd gotten due to hyped content." Just keep doing what you like and nothing else!

I honestly love it when content creators aren't afraid to call out toxic fans. I'm sure at some level it was a difficult decision to decide whether to bring up these people in your video, and I respect the hell out of it.

The people showing at 31:37 screaming "connect" and "chance ball" were actually the players from the bench, that's why the were so close to each others!

Favorite moment: “I’m shoyo of the concrete” You know 99% of us appreciate that you find the time to do these videos. Anyways, this series got me into watching your main content and other volleyball stuff, and put the bug in my brain to start playing beach (I live in Florida so it’s way more accessible). Volleyball never crossed my life, was never presented as an option growing up (our high school didn’t even have a team as far as I can remember) and you got me into it.

The BBQ scene is so well put together. First of all you get a wide shot, so you can have an idea of the space you are. And then you zoom in into each group of people and walk around the area. The way it is edited feels so real, like the camera is just turning to the side to watch somebody else, instead of just separate scenes in the same background. I love it so much because it showcases the love and passion the people behind this anime have. In a scene that carries no volleyball or no real high drama scenes, you have such good quality of production.

Hey Coach, I hope you know we respect you and we appreciate you taking your time to do these reactions every week. I actually look forward to them, bc Haikyuu is one of my favourite animes, and I really like watching other people enjoy it too. Thank you for making these videos for us!

To clear up a little confusion: At 31:34, those were the players on the bench, not the ones who were playing. They were just clumped up in the warm-up area calling out the free ball.

The first character is actually a third year who didn't make the starting team or the bench. Sort of like Tsukishima's brother but Aoba Johsai is a huge power house school with lots of members.

One moment I really liked in season 2 is when Yahaba comes in as a pinch server for Seijoh. During that point Oikawa has to dive for the ball, and Yahaba is forced to set the ball. He messes up the set, but Mad Dog covers for him and makes the point. They both get really pumped up afterwards and celebrate with each other. It's really cool to see them celebrating together since Yahaba was the person to talk sense into Mad Dog and get him back on the court (after he was subbed out). Haikyuu is filled with all sorts of little connections like this where you'll miss it if you blink and you don't remember who every player on every roster is. But I think that's why so many people love rewatching the series. It's not my "favorite" moment but it's one worth mentioning!

Cant wait for you to start season 3 coach! My favorite scene in this season is when Tsukishima approached Bokuto, Kuroo and Akaashi and asked them why are they so into volleyball. Bokuto’s answer is so impactful for someone like Tsuki. Also, one of my favorite moments is when Kageyama, Hinata, Nishinoya and Tanaka knew that they will have barbecue after they play. That dance is so epic. lol

People who leave comments like that must have a warped view of what Haikyuu is about. To watch the show enough to seek out reactions and not understand that their toxic behaviour is opposite to the message Haikyuu is pushing. Fun, growth, selflessness, community, connecting through a love of the game and more. They should rewatch it again and pay attention this time. Thank you for the time and effort you put into your content, Donny. It is insightful, entertaining and I love it! The Olympics was the first volleyball tournament I got to watch live and it was amazing. You're commentary was a great, keep it up!

YESSSSSSSSSSSSS COACH I ADMIRE THIS ATTITUDE OF YOURS SO MUCH. You ACTIVELY cultivate positive minded people in your channel, and I'd take a bet you do this on your real life surroundings as well. People that simply enjoying watching haikyuu or whatever with you. This may be naive from me, but I have this gut feeling in me that your fans in this channel are the most wholesome and supportive community I've seen throughout social media (comparing to other influencers). These are people who enjoy your commentary/input, the way you perceive and catch details. I believe this is the true reason people come back here over and over, they simply enjoy watching nice things with you. Keep up doing your great work, keep up trimming your audience to keep only the worthwhile fans, and let's watch another episode together.

The thing that I can now appreciate in hindsight when rewatching Seijoh rematch is how well it establishes that Karasuno is an offensive team to their very core. From Hinata's insistence on improving the freak quick back at the camp even while his defense and passing are mediocre at best, Kageyama choosing to do a ballsy setter dump in the second to last point, the way they chose to swap out Tsukki (their best blocker) on match point in favor of bringing in a second setter to give them more attacking options, Asahi going for that absolutely wild return shot, etc etc... Karasuno's main strength is their ability to put their foot on the gas and Never. Let. Up. And making our underdog team such an absurdly offense-oriented squad is such a great decision from the author! Having the main team develop an offense that relentless creates a lot of opportunity for flashy plays to wow the audience, and seeing how much Karasuno is willing to put on the line during every single point makes it really hard not to cheer for them!

16:33 I was thinking about this the other day. About how coach donny literally breathes volleyball. He’s a coach (of a team and private lessons), he has his own team that he plays on, he’s constantly practicing, he not only watches VNL and the Olympics but made videos about them, AND he spends time watching a volleyball anime and makes videos about THAT!! Plus who knows what else related to volleyball! Like, dang! To have that kind of passion for one thing is really awesome! It’s really cool to see, so thanks for sharing, Coach! :)

I love the mindset of some of the commenters that *you* have to be "fair" with *your* channel, as if we deserve, or are entitled to, any part of it. Make whatever videos you want, Coach. I don't watch a ton of the content outside Haikyu, some matches/practice games, and some of the Olympic commentaries (fantastic for background noise during work), but at the end of the day this is 100% yours and your videos are best when you wanna do them

a few things to clarify, 1. for the scene with yamaguchis flash back with his mentor Shimada, the part about Going to Ukais is referring to going to see Coach Ukai after the match with Wakunan where he chickened out and served a non-jumping serve. Yamaguchi goes to apologize for wasting the opportunity as the pinch server, even though he understood what his role was from the summer camp when Asahi did the same thing. 2. Last scene where you said its unrealistic for people to clump together on a free ball, that was just the players in the warmup area, not the players on court

Honestly the emotional investment really scared me from team sports for a long time, especially since I was around people who didn't understand (family doesn't display emotion and thinks it's dumb). It was worth it though and I'm glad this anime showed how this experience isn't just about value and how even though it's painful it's important and helps you grow as a person.
