I can feel that Cuba is the revelation of this year's VNL. Imagine beating Brazil 2 times already and almost qualifying for the Olympics in the qualifiers. Man, this is a great start for them!

@@alitagastya1509 The problem is that probably is not the 1st time that you saw "Cubans",since across the years,they has been one of the potential "dream teams" of Volleyball of all times,not been able to put together .but giving us,their very exciting "game mentality. Just think about, the almost "a hundred good and excellent cuban players,playing abroad and not playing for their national team.(Just here,imagine Leal,Leon,Simon & and the adopted Italian,Osmany Juantorena,all of them cubans,on their very best prime). Something similar in a different scale ,happens with their legendary female team,as we know and appreciate,cubans , Vargas,Carrillo,Carcases,among the ladies,not playing for their 'nation ". The best female player of the last century is a cuban remarcable player,as was Regla Torres,(even though i prefered the better spiker of all,MIREYA LUIS)and Cuban Female 1990-2000 has been in the talks,as the best team ever,since they earned 3 (not 1,not 2)but 3 Olympic Gold Medals IN A ROW,Together with 2 World Championship,comparable at that time to the VNL event. So ,maybe you didn't watch a "cuban team"but you did admired, "cubans at work", one of the most spectacular volleyball school,"out there". Not the best all around ,because that's a subjective matter and they have '"vulnerabilities"(defense & setting)...but it seems to me,that they are working seriously on it ,under the guidance of the young,but competent enough,coach Mr Jesus Cruz.

Cuba's team is collecting today,years of hard work and dedication,working from its excellent volleyball foundation,with high enthousiam but not enough "material ressources".We knew they were and are spectacular,because of their "raw athleticism" and powerful ofense, whereas ,using a powerful service at 136 km per hour 2:52 ,executed by Migel A Lopez,or on the creative attack from his young middle blocker Concepcion 1:01 or the impressive spikes of Lopez & Yant * 6:40 on the "diagonal atack" ,but beware,this cuban team ,nowadays is more mature, better emotionally controlled & more defensively sound, (as their number and quality of blocks illustrate)

Cuba has been always,a "dream team",but with the "particular characteristic" ,that every major cuban stars,(men or female),played for a big while on their prime ,out of the cuban volley system,(some of them ,remaining,after all, in adoptive countries)that's why i'm glad to see that some of their best players,are returning to play with their birth nation,most of them ,being perceived as exceptional athletes....Even two of them labeled as the best players of nowadays ,around the world (male and female). Both were formed in that little but sportive island and both are playing for foreign nations...That's the case with Wilfredo Leon & Melissa "Air"Vargas, no doubt they are considered the best & not a surprise either. While this's happening cuban team, keep on evolving their solid volley foundation.

Cuba always attract me,because they are so strong ,but many times before,they could find themselves, "out of focus",but this time,this team,is everything that they always were and more, their maturity is very telling. Big ups to the new coach,Jesus Cruz.Good Job Cuba and good job,the cuban Leal(playing as the maximum scorer for Brazil, designated in this match,to be the real menace ,against his fellow compatriots).At the end,it was solely a "cuban affaire",Yoandy Leal 19 points,Marlon Yant 18,as the top scorers of the match.

Great Victory for one of the most entertaining teams of the Volley Planet,with a peculiar taste in what's a confrontation between to dear,best friends and compatriots,sharing a common history,as they were together,since they both,played for the cuban "youth" and senior teams,before parting ways. Indeed,i'm alluding to Simon & Leal,who in this case,played in oposite teams,having to confront each other 3:10 Leal for his adoptive country of Brazil and Simon,for his birth country team Cuba.Interesting conundrum!

Great game from Cuba! They've really improved in alot of aspects. Their serving is great, no mistakes there. They were able to get significant aces with the tactical serves they were firing. But what has really gotten my heart is their blocking. Their block really helped them in this match. 80% of Brazil's spikes were if not blocked, then block touched, providing a much easier situation for Cuba to transition attacks. This year's VNL will really be interesting, looking forward to watching more that our players have in store for us this year ❤

A diferença é que o time brasileiro ja era tri campeão olímpico antes do Leal, o Leal não entrou na seleção exclusivamente para trazer títulos para o Brasil, porque isso já temos de sobra. Pelo contrário, estamos em 5 no ranking mundial, antes ficamos por mais de 20 anos em 1, não foi nenhum cubano que nos colocou lá, como em um certo time aí que precisou de um 🇨🇺 para estar em 1!

There is no need to play for other countries for Cuban athletes anymore. In the past, Cuban players were not allowed to play in other countries. So there were no possibility of earning good salary . But right now they can play wherever they want and then come and play in national team. All of the Cuban players who has played in other national teams, they left the country illegallly to play in other leagues and after that there was no possibility of playing for Cuban national team again at that time.

The slow connection between these aged players of Brazil is not working anymore and the worst the coach is sticking to them without giving younger ones the chance to evolve ang showcase their full potential with the team. Bruno is already losing his effectiveness in the court especially in those crucial points. Insisting on Lukas for net defense is another liability for Bernardinho and hopefully they will learn from this defeat. Cuba is slowly regaining it's volleyball superiority and if they will be consistent podium finish will be possible.

yeah, thats how I feel too, especially Lucas, when I look at how many chances Bruno gives him for an attack and he never lands it, his swing is really slow and it also feels that he almost doesn’t jump anymore, maybe it‘s just me idk

Man after watching Cuba have some amazing highs over the last 2-3 years, but also massive low performances in deciding matches, it feels soooo rewarding to see them finally just click. You can still see the crazyness and him being all over the place in Thondikes setting, but they all have adjusted to him and believe in him + I don't know what it is but everytime they play Brazil they have their best match of the year. For Brazil I thought it was very obvious that Brunos Setting isn't what it used to be, even his club seasons in Modena. Dude might be a legend for his duo performances with Lukas, but he is getting soo predictable in his later stages of his carreer now. Everytime he tried to make one of his cheeky plays and set a player that "supposedly" no one was aware of he got absolutely roofed. Congratz Cuba, the grind paid off today, hope you can hold that form.

Happy to see Rezende like coach in men's national volleybal team again. He's the best! About the game, Cuba made a very good match, with excellent players like Yant, Lopez and mainly Simonster. He is a very strong player, on the serve, block and attack. I think Honorato would be a good option for any moments to this game, playing like a pointer. Good game by the teams! 🏐🇧🇷🇨🇺
