They are referring to a study from 2021 which came to the conclusion that the NFL is the second most popular tv sport (soccer is still more than twice as popular). The 20m number is based on estimates by the NFL. Don't know how they define "Fan" but the number seems unrealistic. However, Football seems to be the fastest growing sport in germany by far.

@@xDawhite Yup. What that tells me isn't that American football is popular in Germany, but rather that other sports aren't that popular to watch. I've spent quite some time in Germany and I've never talked to anyone who watched it. Don't get me wrong--I love it--but outside of the Super Bowl I still don't think it's very popular.

It's great that 2 games are taking place in Germany. But Frankfurt twice. This is not good. Frankfurt is not an interesting city for Germans. But it is how it was decided. All the best to the Patriots 🇩🇪👍🙋‍♀️

na Du hast mal überhaupt keine Ahnung. Frankfurt hat die beste und längste Kultur für American Football. Die US Army hat es dort verbreitet und es wird nicht erst seit den Galaxy regional und überregional gelebt. Also wenn man keine Ahnung hat, besser mal die Klappe halten. Und Frankfurt mag für Dich vielleicht nicht interessant sein aber verallgemeinere das nicht. Du bist mega ignorant und unwissend.

We live in the United States. Despite what CNN and such tells you, we speak mainly english, second would be Spanish. German is probably behind french and Mandarin. More importantly, please stop selling out home games to line owners pockets. Please.

What does that have to do with the language? English is also spoken in Germany. This is the language that is learned in elementary school. I speak more English a day than you German in your whole life. So what's the point of using the language as an excuse. Germany has the largest football fan community outside of the United States. NFL is business and expanding her business in Europe and that means more revenue. Let the fans, no matter where they come from, have the pleasure of watching games abroad.

german is actually number three in the US. you can be assured these games will be sold out within the first 5 minutes. last time 3 million people tried to buy tickets iirc.
