Total nut and bolt restored by the highly regarded retractable expert Jerry Miller. The nicest retractables in the world were restored by him and this is one of them. This car won a national senior 1st place AACA award in 2007. It is also loaded with every factory option from air conditioning to fitted luggage. Only 1,667 miles since finished. The car recently shipped back to Jerry to be serviced including the top which is working perfectly.
EXTERIOR: I bet the fit and finish is better then the factory made. It is laser straight, the panels fit precisely. The hood closes with a "click", doors shut effortlessly. The top is functioning flawlessly, recently serviced by Jerry. With the flip of a switch it transforms from a hardtop to a convertible. It is entertaining to watch, people will gather around. The paint is polished smooth and glossy. Every single piece of chrome and trim was restored or replaced. The glass is crystal clear. Every weather strip and gasket was replaced. It has rocker trim, stainless skirts, reverse lights and the 1st place emblem in the grill. The hubcaps have the red-white-blue centers, rims were painted and it rides on radial white walls.
INTERIOR: Completely restored to new condition. It has correct 3 tone upholstery protected in clear plastic, vintage style seat covers with the chrome piping. These are not just slip on covers, they are sewn and installed with the same precision as the upholstery. The door panels are also correct reproduction with the silver trim. Down on the floor is new carpet and embroidered floor mats. In front of me is a beautiful dash. It has a perfect fitting padded dash, Town & Country radio, the clock was converted to quartz. Below the dash is the chrome air conditioning vents and a tissue dispenser. The chrome has been replated, the metal has been replated, steering wheel is pristine. The lenses, gauges, knobs are all like new. It has a day night mirror. In the glove box it has the owner's manual. The interior lights work. Seat belts were added in front.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The 352-300 horsepower motor was completely rebuilt and runs smooth. Every component in this engine compartment has been rebuilt and restored to look like new from the 4 barrel carb to the air conditioning. Detailed like factory new down to the decals, reproduction hoses, cloth wrapped choked tube and windshield washer bag. Features include factory air, power steering and electric wipers.

Wow!!! Optioned with the 3 piece fitted luggage set!! I knew that option existed, but of the many Skyliners I've looked at, this is the first time I've ever seen one equiped with that option.

I do the very same ... Having grown up in the 50s, and finishing school in the late 60s, my attention is always of those years. They seemed to have it all; great body designs, heavier and more rugged construction, the 'muscle car' models were fast .... they seemed to offer something for every buyer. Most of these cars (and trucks) have the appeal to reach out and grab us! I think that I'm spoiled by most of what the folks at Volo offer. I've found that if one truly respects the overall quality, fit and finish, we can trust Mr. Grams to fully describe and present each vehicle with articulation, as well as with impeccable integrity. I've decided that, if ever in a position to own one of these vehicles, it will undoubtedly come from Volo ...

This is probably one of the finest examples and list of options I've seen in a long time on a '59. My mother had a regular convertible in turquoise & white back in the day, with a continental kit and fewer options. That kit made it very hard to get in and out of the driveway. Now with what I said about this one, I have to be honest. It cannot be a Galaxie without the script on the quarter panels in place of Fairlane 500 and with the tiny little gold plaque on the glove box door. This is an early one. All retractables became Fairlane 500 Skyliner Galaxies' shortly into 1958, but not in the beginning. The Fairlane 500 always stayed on the rear end. This one also bothers me with the way the front bumper sits. It is just a little off side to side. Not sure why on this one but it was easy to tweak the bumper a little either in the mounting brackets or the bumper itself so it sits off. The exhaust tips were actually called exhaust deflectors to direct the water and soot down while in the garage or anywhere else so as not to spatter. These are pushed up at the end and do not fit right, possibly due to the exhaust tips being formed the way they are. Should be straight out into the under part of the deflector.

In my opinion, words can't even begin to describe this beautiful 59. Absolutely stunning at every point! The brilliance of the colors, the stainless and chrome .... and going back to the color options, this two-tone blue is perfect for this car. One would expect this one in red, as red seemed to be the color of choice in 59. Great self-described car, and great video .... Thnx for sharing this awesome find! P.S. I HAD to come back and add, you made me a nervous wreck when you started to put the top up!! Lol
