Voltage drop testing is a fast, easy way to check for any problems in any high amperage circuit, like between the battery and the starter, or between the alternator and the battery. A good voltage drop test will quickly tell you if something like a chafed cable, bad connection, corroded battery clamp or bad relay is causing low voltage. And since low voltage is one of the main causes of premature starter failure these days, the voltage drop test is an important diagnostic tool.

THis is THE BEST, SUCCINCT, CLEAR explanation and demostration of what V-Drop testing does and how it does it. Of All the V-Drop Vids I have reviewed on You-Tube, yours is THE ONLY ONE that makes it clear that the voltage will show (take would indicate current flow) the path of least resistance. Anything in the tested current path that does not allow the current to flow will cause some or all of the current and therefore the voltage pressure to take the path THROUGH THE METER. Also, you made it clear the test must BE DONE UNDER LOAD, i.e., current flow AND that the DVM must be set to capture the highest V surge.... THANK YOU. Tom Jones, New Orlean, LA GOOOOO SAINTS!
