Thanks for this video! Recently I kept getting the “ovr” code and my machine would shut off. My battery was good. I ordered a new rectifier and that solved the problem. 2019 sportsman 570 SP

How's the new regulatory holding up since the videos been out? Battery cuts out after shutting off. Runs good all day long but sometimes there isn't enough cranking speed. New battery so has to be this?

It is still working fine. Can’t beat it for the price.

My sportsman 570 volt will say ovr when I hit the gas and when I turn it off the battery died instant the only way I turn it on was with cables u think it’s my regulator ?
@reeldazed5393 жыл бұрын
It sounds like it is going over voltage. Pending your battery is ok I would suggest checking the wires that come out of the motor (stator wires) and make sure they have not rubbed through. Like in the video look good behind the oil filter area at the wires there that is where they tend to rub through. I

Continued……if those are ok it is a strong possibility it is the voltage regulator. They seem to be an issue on these things. If it is just follow the video for the install. The one I got on amazon is still doing fine on mine. Hopefully this helps. Thanks!

What issues were you having that lead you to replace the voltage regulator?

The volts were dropping to the point my machine cut off.

@@reeldazed539 did you have check engine code?
@reeldazed5393 жыл бұрын
I did not have a code. I had a new battery so I knew that was not the issue. After researching I found that this is a somewhat common issue so I decided to try this as a cheap replacement to see how it works. So far I still have not had any issues with it.

@@reeldazed539 cool thanks man I’m having issues with mine and trying to figure out what my issue is I’ve replaced tmap sensor and harness and fuel pump but I still get the code for map sensor but if code goes away then the quad shuts off but if code is on then quad runs good

Sorry to hear you are having those issues. Hopefully you will be able to get it resolved soon and I hate I am unable to give you any further suggestions on it.

We’re you getting the 168 3 code? If so did you test any thing before purchasing the regulator or did you go ahead and just replace the regulator? Thanks !

I just replaced it.

Do you have a link to the regulator you got off Amazon?
@reeldazed5393 жыл бұрын
I am unable to because I do not have an affiliate account yet. I wish I did. However the following is the info I sent to someone last night. (The model I got was Tepeng (just be sure to punch in your year model and Polaris sportsman voltage regulator on Amazon search). Thanks for watching and please consider subscribing.

I need the the plug that comes out from the engine and connects to the plug with the 3 yellow wires. Can you tell me what that is called?
@reeldazed5393 жыл бұрын
I believe it is called a stator plug. They make stator connector repair kits also. Be sure to match year make model with new one and look at pics to confirm it looks the same as your old one. If it is damaged to the point it is unrecognizable look at the one in my video. Hope this helps!

When the cables are connected (the ones you showed underneath next to the oil filter) my screen flickers. When i disconnect them, the flickering goes away. Any idea why?
@reeldazed5393 жыл бұрын
Is this with a new regulator? 1-If so it sounds as though it is sending to much voltage. If new I would return it for another one. 2-If it is your old regulator it sounds as though you may need a new one. 3-(should be #1)If this is original regulator start by making sure battery is ok also jiggle the ignition switch key just to rule it out as well. They are finicky also. 4-make sure no wires are frayed. Hope this helps.

@@reeldazed539 thank you sir. It’s my old one, might be worth changing it out. Just took her out for a test ride, shut off. Volts dropped to the 10’s

Yeah if your battery is good it’s likely that regulator. If you change it out let me know how it goes. Thanks!

@@reeldazed539 Alright i got it! So right as i was starting to take the old VR off, i had to unscrew the positive and negative little O rings (excuse my lack of grease monkey talk) right under the fuse box, i noticed the positive was loose. I tighten them both down, charged the battery up a bit, and the flickering is completely gone!! Hope this helps someone haha

That’s awesome. It’s always good news when all it is is a loose bolt. Takes a little time to find it but it’s usually free! Glad you got it worked out!
