No need to turn on the mobile data on VoLTE phones to make phone calls whereas on LTE(4G) phones u'll have to. Majority of the people have this doubt, hope I've helped.

Ranjit few corrections. 3G actually focuses on highspeed packet access. So that means 3G mobil network was actually focused on higher data rates and higher voice quality. There is no such thing as voice was a priority in 3G. 2nd: after 3gpp release 4 multiRAB was introduced in 3G. That means you can simultaneously use internet along with the voice call.

Great video. very clear and technically accurate. Another problem related but not mentioned here is trying to receive or send SMS using Jio SIM on Huawei or other 4G dongle modem. SMS can be VERY necessary for internet banking and shopping but so far requires a second SIM and a phone to receive OTP over SMS. Previously on Idea/Vodafone SIM the dongle delivered SMS to the Mac or PC without difficulty. Any insights or suggestions would be most appreciated.

Regarding the Call drops. When some other person tries to call us the phone hangs up before even calling. And when i call it says Lines are busy . i have to call like 5-6 timez and then it connects. One thing I would like to correct, none band has been prioritised for VoLTE calling, it depends on your network signal strength. So if your device supports 1800 or 2300 band you are eligible to get update. And regarding when you disable your data your VoLTE call will continue but jiojoin will not work as it works on APN of data services.
