Volterra: A day trip from Florence!

Thanks for repping the town! You missed the current jewel in Volterra’s archaeological crown: the Roman Amphitheatre digsite, a ten-thousand seater that’s being slowly exposed. It’s right at the town’s cemetary. Beyond it, is Porta Diana, another Etruscan gate and a kilometer downhill again are Etruscan tombs that you can climb into. Something for next time! ☺️

Thank you for watching! I only had 3 hours on this first trip but definitely want to check out your recommendations (especially the Roman Amphitheater!) Is there a bus that makes the journey there a bit more convenient?
