It's amazing how much easier this is to understand when someone actually takes the time to break it all the way down to the base facts. Everyone else thinks they can make it easier to understand by comparing it to Super Soakers or something, but it really doesn't help you UNDERSTAND how it works.

Practical and clear explanation but I would like to confirm something. If I apply the knowledge I got from the video above, for example if I go and buy a 1200 watt power supply for my new building pc, it means that power supply will consumes 1200 energy of joules per second and as I know = More Voltage = More Amperes = More Charge of energy, So I need to have high voltage that can produce 1200 energy per second to match the power supply right??

Just a suggestion: But, I felt this video [is] more a video on differential analysis than anything else ( Which doesn't explain Volts, Amps, and Watts very well ). As an intellectual person from a different field of study I would simply suggest you focus on the core title, which is why i came here, in understanding all about volts, amps and watts. What is there relationship between them. It's easy to flash a few formulas on the screen which I could have gotten from a reference card. I want to better understand the relationship. Linus Tech Tips #LTT was explaining for lamens people like myself in terms of a water faucet. Could you make another video that helps explain this relationship more fully?? PS - I want to build my own electric car and I am still having some difficulty grasping the concepts for why batteries are in mAh, computers are in Watts, and electric cars are in Volts. Thanks for the video!

Would it be fair to compare the equation of Watts=(Amps)(Volts) to the equation Force=(mass)(Acceleration)? Obviously we're talking about two different things, one refers to electrical energy while the other refers to the inertia of a body, but would the relation be comparable? If it is, then it would be easier for me to understand, otherwise, then I'm way off.
@sandeshkhatri6846
@sandeshkhatri6846 Жыл бұрын
Yes, it would be fair to compare the equations "Watts = (Amps) x (Volts)" in the context of electrical power to the equation "Force = (Mass) x (Acceleration)" in the context of Newton's second law of motion. Both equations represent a fundamental relationship between different physical quantities.

in 8:00 shouldn't it be -6.25x10^-18e/sec?, because you said -1c = 6.25x10^-18e and not 1c = 6.25x10^-18e I am talking about the negative sign it's weird because then a positive coulomb is equal to negative amount of electron which is nonsence. here is my explanation for this please tell me if I am correct: so basically I this of "negative" number of electrons(or a +ve coulomb) as electrons flowing opposite to the direction i am measuring and "positive" number of electrons (or a -ve coulomb) as electrons flowing in the direction i am measuring, or maybe vice versa. please give me feedback on the correctness of this.

ohm is a basic unit measurement of a RESISTOR in an electric circuit. When working with the base calculations of an electric circuit you'll mostly need the W V & A cos your already given the ohm - for the most part. HOWEVER, there's what we call an Ohm's Law used to calculate the unit ohm on it own.

This sounds like an odd questions but it's nagging me and I'm sure I will be wrong here. In your battery example that starts around 16min, you ask how much power is absorbed by the resistor. You calculate this value as P= V * I. Wouldn't this give you the power that traveled through the circuit not what the resistor "absorbed". Shouldn't that be something like, Total power without resistor - actual power = total power absorbed by the resistor..
@phomolomosia4165
@phomolomosia4165 5 жыл бұрын
nah he used V= I * R which is pretty straight foward bcos you're only given the Voltage and the Resistance to work with. HINT: to find the adequate formula you can use - first look at what you're given to work with
@Sai1ence
@Sai1ence 4 жыл бұрын
That's something I was thinking about earlier as well. From what I understand, yes, you're correct -- he calculated the total power that went through the circuit, but that is equal to the power that went through the resistor, because the resistor is the only element in the circuit (besides the battery voltage source). If you wanted to calculate the power for an individual component in a circuit with multiple resistors, then you'd need to find the voltage DROP (the difference in voltage from before and after the component) as well as the current going through the component, which *can* be different from the overall current if the components are placed in parallel. His explanation doesn't go with terms like "voltage drop" because that's a bit more difficult, but I'm sure he explains it in some circuit analysis videos more, unless he wants everything to be simple - which he usually does. Good thing is more people understand his explanation, but not the fully correct one, which can be damaging. You can look between multiple sources and see what people are saying to make sure you don't get the wrong explanation and actually understand what's happening.
