What a fantastic sight & sounds from RAF LAKENHEATH, so brilliant having our cousins here from USA, always welcome on my part. With the RAF the USAF show huge flying skill & power, safeguarding the WEST. The USA tankers & surveillance from RAF MILDENHALL next door must not be forgotten working hard watching UKRAINE now & the RUSSIAN MENACE.

Regarding the Russian menace, RAF Lakenheath would be taken out. I live in Lakenheath near the end of the runway , and see the aircraft taking off.

Graduated from High School there in 1975. Was a dorm student as my dad was stationed at RAF Bentwaters. Those were the days of the F-4 Phantom. Loved watching them take off at night with their afterburners aglow. The dorms we lived in was at the east end of the runway.

My dad was a British civilian mechanic with the 81st at woodbridge and then bentwaters. We used to love going to the airshows and watching phantoms and A10's

I was parked up next to the main runway at RAF Waddington waiting for a Phantom to make an emergency landing, he slid off the runway and got stuck in the grass and mud on the right of the runway and was fully armed so both Pilot/Nav ejected and the aircraft stopped about 100m from my Landrover.

USAF BRAT here from 1960-1975 and I was born on Tyndall AFB, FLA. The first 15 years of my life included the chance to be around the Convair F-106 Delta Dart, Pilots, Ready Room, and the Hangers. We had stints with the 318th FIS McChord AFB 1964-1970 and the 5th FIS Minot, North Dakota 1970-1973. Love this stuff! Hits home man! The Eagle replaced Dads Delta Dart back in the day. I was in the ATC and wanted to join the RAF in 1990, after my A Levels but my parents didn’t let me. I’m sure I would have had a successful career as an engineer/ ground crew. I attended annual camps in Honnington, not far from here, Bruggen in Germany and Church Fenton. Happy times.

Would have been nice to have had this same video capability when F-111F's were stationed there. The F-15's are loud with the GE F110 motors BUT you do not know noise until you've heard the whistle of the TF-30's taxiing and the grunty roar of the TF-30 in Zone 5 AB. The F-15E is, although a bit short legged, a fitting replacement for the Aardvark, unlike the F-35, less than half the range, half the payload and half the speed. It was also good to see the Heath again. Thanks!

I live 1 mile from departure end RWY 24 with clear view from garden and kitchen window. It can be fun. I'd say the most interesting and noisy are the multiple touch and go landings where they do U turns a few hundred feet above runway and go around again. Great to see it all happening on base. I never see what's happening when they are sitting on tarmac making that whining noise.

They're alright, but I've just seen a Spitfire flying low right above me as I was walking my dogs, normally it's this lot from Lakenheath or the tankers and transports from Mildenhall or those Ospreys flying where I walk my dogs, but a Spitfire, nice and the noise wow! It sounds like a hundred of your favourite sports cars all revving in unison, not the racket this lot make.
