Is it right to shake or invert your flask before making up volume as some solution might be left in between cap and flask? I thought it is better to make upto the volume and then mix by inverting...

Stop the stopper tight and secure. There should be a seal, and no solution could seep through, you can rinse the stopper with deionized as well if you like. She also said to wait for it to settle. Hope that helps.

When we try to mix something, why cant we just put in the premixes or powder directly into the volumetric flask with considerable amount of distilled water for mixing process instead of mixing them in a beaker with glass rod or any other convenient stirrer prior setting up the volume to the graduation mark? Or can we do that?

This is a volumetric flask. You don't apply heat with one of these.

I just started in chemistry and i was wondering if it is okay to transfer from a volumetric flask?

But why can't you used a measuring cylinda.
@ianprose28252 жыл бұрын
@@beerotiroba2846 because a volumetric flask goes to 2 sig figs after the decimal 10.00 while a graduated cylinder only measured to 1 sig fig after the decimal 10.0

wrong technique. You shouldn't invert your volumetric flask before topping up with solvent

Why can't you just use a graduated cylinder or beaker?
@taylorhogue3164 жыл бұрын
Graduated cylinders and beakers only provide you accurate measurement to the tens and tenths places (x.0 and 0.x). When you need solutions of a very specific molarity or molality, using volumetric flasks assures that you have an accuracy of volume to the hundreths place (0.0x). This is especially important for specific work like titration, where you need accurate concentrations to determine the the amount of solute in the titrant.

Thank you! I finally know how to answer my homework! haha umm..one comment though, maybe in your next videos, you could be a bit more active? Because it kinda seems like you're bored and want to just get the whole video over with or something..I think if you become more active, then you can definitely get more viewers...but hey it's just a suggestion so...thanks again for this really helpful vid! XD

I think you're projecting. She could probably get a lot more views if she wore a bikini under a see-through lab coat, but that isn't the point here.
