I had (past tense) been considering doing this myself. Considering all that needs to be removed to access the speakers... I will hire someone, thank you so much for the video!

Great thing about this is once the engine is out and separated from the transmission, it's very easy to go ahead and check the oil.

All screws are back in and it runs fine, have you seen what must be done to get to the turbo on the 2.0l engine?

Curious, why wouldn't you remove that passenger side panel to make it easier to access? Is it because of the airbag? Thanks for this video though. I am considering this upgrade and this was very informative.

We actually pull everything that is needed for install, anymore is just additional labor that is not necessary

First I found you do not have to remove the Head unit at all . Second I have no idea how you got to move the lower drivers side brace like you did.. A better video of that side would help... It was a bear to get that pod out and back in there and my brace did not even move 1/2 the distance that yours did . I also removed the LH of the steering wheel vertical brace and to be honest about it I broke off the upper bracket on the new speaker pod . Seams to be tight enough without it so not to much worried about it. Other wise great video and learned a lot by watching .

Thanks for this video. Would love to see a video of how you put the pod together... is there a better pod to use so you can construct & not have to swap? I'm also seeing that if I'm swapping the head unit, this is clearly the perfect time. Thanks for the step-by-step. It's intimidating, but I think it's something I want to try.

The pods are very simple to put together, the include everything necessary and bolt in exactly like the original pods
@VASteelersGuy2 жыл бұрын
Just got these from you guys and the speakers do not sit flush into the new pods no matter what orientation I'm using? Do I need to cut material away?

Yes the pods have small tabs that are cut off for using 6.5” speakers,

I cant tell from the video. For the passenger side pod, does it attach on the right side to a metal bar? How much space is there between the new pod and metal bar if so? I ask because I had to modify my metra pod to fit a larger magnet speaker. I had to heat up the pod and expand it out about 1/2" on the "shelf" part of the pod. I'm wondering if it will still fit.

How does this effect the sound of your phone over Bluetooth with that X-over and tweeter? On my gladiator seems to only output some from my phone calls to the front left top dash speaker.

Hey so dont know if anyone knows the question(I don't really know much about car stereos) If I have a Alpine Amplified system in my jeep does it have enough power to pushed 6.5 in the knee location?

That depends on how much power your 6.5” requires

I took mines off without taking all that off all you need is sledge hammer, long pry bar & blk electrical tape 😅 What brand are the New speakers 🔊 I found powerbass OE-400 🔊4” 🤷🏻♂️
@volunteeraudio8 ай бұрын
We used alpine 6.5” in this video, you want to upgrade to a bigger speaker than a 4” to get better sound
@bneiswin2 жыл бұрын
I already have the alpine amp upgrade system that came with the upgraded tweeters and the 8” sub. Is there a 6.5 speaker you recommend that isn’t a 2 way component for the kick panels? I would like to stay all alpine.
@volunteeraudio2 жыл бұрын
First I would add the overhead system, volunteeraudio.com/product/alpine-spv-65-jlt , they are easier to install and make a bigger difference than the dash speakers
@scottthomason90092 жыл бұрын
That's an awful lot of work that you made look easy. I do wonder if the factory grill has a negative impact on the sound, perhaps you could provide your expert opinion.
@volunteeraudio2 жыл бұрын
I don’t believe the grille will cause much sound loss, using a fast ring to get the sound more sealed to the grill is a great option to add

@harveybrooks96972 жыл бұрын
@@volunteeraudio I just saw them the other day. You don’t have to cut the roll bar to put in a 6 1/2” speaker but they stick out further than the SSV ones. I think they make 2 different ones with a coaxial speaker or component speaker.
