Thank you for going to these wonderful FDs. That can use the skills of the Local community members, that can build a Bar/ Food vendor and big meeting Room for any public events. The Tables stored in one side, easy to set up. A looks like professional Food/ Bar prep area to host those events. Nothing like getting the whole community involvement. Be it a wedding Bingo FUND raising MONEY to fund FD. All I can say is WOW. Such great mindset of the Leadership. Not just let TAX payers, out of property TAX fund these great Fire Department's.

Since I was a volunteer my academy was part time weekends and one night a week during the week days. However if you are with a paid department you normally spend the next 16 weeks at the facility. What is yours like ?

I grew up in that firehouse. My father was a firefighter there for 30+ years. Wish I had more money because when they get rid of that engine I would give anything to be able to buy it, keep it running and clean, so I can take it to parades and around the community for kids and stuff and just honor the place I grew up and the men I looked up to as a kid.

Joe plays games Do you know where the other fire siren is at in Franklin? Someone tried filming the firehouse one on a Saturday at noon and it didn’t sound, but another one was heard. Do you know where that one is located at and does the firehouse one work still?

@@ChristanLife-1 Does the firehouse one go off on Saturdays at noon or just the other one?
2:16 Look familiar? That's the historic fire mark Leland Township--who *_Heroes Next Door_* visited back in July ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6DSpnWDrrWUnJY )--borrowed for theirs. However, Franklin's appears to be one of the _ca._ 1825-1904 cast iron originals from Firemen's Insurance Company of Baltimore, MD. Exceedingly rare in such good condition, and quite pricey if you can even find one for sale. Always love your content, Mike, especially the episodes covering these small community departments that abound with history.

A lot of people don’t have jobs that will allow them to leave, their bosses literally won’t let them and/or they can’t afford to leave work because they are hourly and boss will make them clock out.

Amazing video and a wonderful tour of the Franklin fire station along with very great history of the department. Does anyone know if Franklin tests their fire sirens and what are they used for?
@ChristanLife-12 жыл бұрын
Yes I live in Franklin now Franklin only has one siren in their station because now they have a voice that tells them.
@stevenwolf9772 жыл бұрын
@@ChristanLife-1 So is the fire siren on the roof of their station still active or no? I got some info from Ogdensburg FD that a local town next to them goes off every day at noon for a test and they said Franklin has more than one siren.
@dorothymackerley350 Жыл бұрын
Franklin has 2 that I know of I haven't heard them in years. At the end of Sterling meets Rutherford Ave . It's still there. I believe these are important. It warns the community Of a emergency . Just like it's important to have them on the Vehicles and trucks. Specially with fires, every second counts, they have to move fast.
@stevenwolf977 Жыл бұрын
@@dorothymackerley350 Yes Franklin still goes off every Saturday at noon and for fire calls. Franklin also has a 3rd fire siren. Do you know where that one is located at as well?

I agree you're right they ain't nothing wrong with adults having drinks together here and there . Didn't mean to offend anybody grateful for all volunteers. I have volunteered myself and have seen my fair share of behind the scenes. Being a firefighter is a big responsibility.i thank all First Responders. But there are time and a place I just feel that fire houses should be alcohol free especially a government owned property .
