It's easy to sit here and think I might have done that different or whatever but in the end it's just good to watch another experienced operator on a job site and see how they work with others on that site. I use a tilt clean up for my finishing work so I was quite impressed how efficiently he cleaned up with a dig bucket. Nice job too. Thanks for posting.

Building sewer treatment plants, laying water and sewer lines and all other subdivision work was very enjoyable and profitable work.... hope it still is. Nice watching a smooooooth operator and I didn't have to leave the comforts of my home to do so! Thanks for the video! ....13

Excellent work Chris. It's hard to work around a lot of folks at a work site and nobody get hurt. Most guys know to keep head on a swivel when around heavy equipment, a few don't though and you really have to keep your eyes on them or they will give you a very bad day.

I like the tick he used with the back not the bottom the back to grade in around those pipes. Great operator I'm just learning how to run an excavator. I've learn like Chris hears the machine now go do the job I will be back in a few hours!

I know you said that machine was much slower then your 220E but it sure does look quick to me. Faster then other 300 class machines, and seems to be on par with the speed of your 220E.

Great video! It seems there may be limited visibility across a few areas around the cabin during that process. Do you think smart glasses that view video projected from strategically placed cameras on the excavator would be helpful? Is that something operators would wear?

some mates just got an 345C. 10k hours on it, but seems okey. crushing operation from solid rock so really cant use volvos.

How deep do you guys go for water? it's weird seeing it that shallow and up here were digging 6 to 8 feet deep and the frost still hits our water mains

Was told that if you used the side of the bucket to move dirt it was hard on pins. Never stopped me from doing it, but have always wonder if true.

I've been told it's harder on welds and swing motor, but everyone does it. I figured if you weren't really supposed to side sweep they'd make it so that machine, somehow, absolutely wouldn't do it.

@@randallwescoat9224 while it is not designed to take a major side load, it is like every other aspect of operating. Everything in moderation. If you swing in hard to a solid stop you will do damage. The boom and stick will handle the torque from the swing motors, it is impact that does damage.

The hard hat and High vis don't make him any safer lol, not with an aware operator and if the operator isn't aware of what's around him then Hugh vis and hard hat won't change that lo

it may not make a difference there but you wear it 100% of the time for the one time you do need it it can save you. like walking across the haul road and a rock truck comes barreling down over the hill or around a bend , he sees you..

I guess he does not care about insurance - over here, Health & Safety Standards would not accommodate any claims for injury or even death if it was proven that the injured was not wearing safety gear. That's the loop hole insurance businesses love - no payout if you do not abide the rules.
