Just a short video log of me using a laser wheel alignment guage on my Volvo 850 T-5. TRACK.ACE laser wheel alignment guage was bought from ebay for £76.90.

worth noting, this will only do front toe not aligned to the vehicle center line. if you car is pulling, you need to do rear toe relative to center line.

had one of these. total waste of time. have a set of dunlop optical gauges that are ok. now i use a "bought" string kit with the mounting frames. welded up some 500mm x 500mm x 500mm square tables on wheels to sit car on from the 2 post (you could use some home made drive on ramps). can now do each wheel mm perfect and do a true 4 wheel toe alignment. you could just use a tape measure, even volvo will give the the mm difference at the tyres in the pocket data books\vida if you cant be ars.. to work it out.

Got to start somewhere old boy🤣 those dulop optical guages are kinda pricey. I did like the look of them though. I get what your saying though. There seems to be alot of different methods to choose from. But this is relatively easy to do nonetheless.

@@850BRICK if you just doing front toe, then use a tape measure, volvo pocket data gives the spec as 3.6mm difference between front and back meaurements to the center of the tyre. you can also take a meaurement to a center point on the car to center steering against the steering wheel.

Noted, btw can you recommend any particular make of tie rod.

@@850BRICK meyle or febi etc are ok, most aftermarket parts are ok these days, for brakes in normally go volvo pads just for noise\feel etc, cambelts either gen volvo or gates etc,
