Yea we pick on a big farm here in nc and the farm provides the trucks and we do the picking so its there problem if its overloaded you can weigh 90 thousand out of the field as long as your off of the interstates but they were bringing highside hoppers and dump wagons in there that I had to load on the side of the truck with the grain wagon instead of right in the middle the most we could put on there dump wagons with soybeans was 800 bushels

HAHA, I knew someone would say something. Actually we can legally carry 2 more tonnes of corn. The trailer heeped right up holds 40 tonnes of corn. The trailer can legally carry 42.5 tonnes.

nice grain set up
@Farmerknowsbest15 жыл бұрын
Assuming 56lb corn. 42.5 tonnes is 93500lbs. So 40 tonnes of corn is 1500 bu. I think the GVW for the truck and trailer is 165,000lbs. It takes about 10 minutes to fill. That is including rolling and unrolling the tarps. Quite fast.

Amazing how it flows like a liquid.
@Farmerknowsbest3 жыл бұрын
It absolutely does. Part of the reason flowing grain is so dangerous. Can easily be sucked down and drown.
@Farmerknowsbest15 жыл бұрын
It is our own truck, so if it is overloaded yes we would pay the fine. However, it is not physically possible for us to overload that trailer with corn. The most we have ever got in it was 40.8 tonnes. We never have to worry about being over loaded. In the past when we hired our trucking done, it was the truckers responsibility to say when it was full, NOT ours. So in that case they would pay the fines, not us.

I was wondering what the steel bar was for, neat idea, no radio and no batteries needed!
@Farmerknowsbest14 жыл бұрын
Yes, it signals to the driver to move ahead.

What is wrong with yours? Ours only has 160,000km on it and the engine and tranny work great. Should last us a long time as we will only be putting about 5000km on it per year max!
