Fifth Gear is absolutely wrong when they state right at the beginning that the C30 is, "based on the Ford Focus". Incorrect! The C30 is based on the original Volvo-designed P1 chassis, which Ford borrowed (since they partly owned Volvo at the time) to build the Focus (although Ford calls it the C1 chassis). Nonetheless, it is the EXACT SAME chassis, engine, everything (for these model years in Europe). Except for the fact that the Volvo C30 is the original car, and the Focus ST was the clone. Only the grill and tail is different. Sorry Focus fans... But you knew that. Starting with the 2014 model year the Focus ST became its own chassis with an inline 4, and the C30 was discontinued.

Just bought a c30 2.0D se rdesign. Once you wind it up, you get the kick in the back, getting 47mpg... Love the c30

@@liam7854 Did the remap make much difference? Was toying with getting it done now I've had the cambelt changed!

@@carl48uk In 1st and 2nd it’s pretty much the same… although I will say I have noticed it picks up the revs a bit quicker in 2nd, but 3rd and 4th is where it’s very noticeable. It doesn’t half pull!

Absolutely buy one of these sleeper pocket-rockets. I can attest to their performance. I have a T5 R-Design with the 6-speed manual. DO NOT buy one with the AW-55 automatic transmission though. The automatic is slow (like this one in the video) and extremely unreliable. It WILL inevitably die on you. They are a trash transmission.

Ive got a C30 T5 with the Autobox, yea id prefer the manual but its fine for an auto, nothing special and has been very reliable in my year of ownership
