Waiting for more tests of the EX30 !! Great video !!

Thank you for this review - very informative. From the perspective of a future owner I’d be interested to see more similar tests (in English) with the EX30 in different kinds of weather too.

Good video. no need for more tests. Look I always tell people look at worst case scenario. Cold weather -20’s+, you will loose 50% range. Plain and simple. In this case the EX30 will give you about 200-230kms at highway speeds. A bit more if just city use. We all know nicer temps means more range and in summer should over achieve EPA or WLTP estimates. So if you can live with 200kms in worst conditions between charges, then this will work for you. For the majority of people going to work and back/daily use, to home charging every day, this is a non issue. That’s how you need to look at BEVs.

@@EVRevolution Yes more tests are needed, you can never have enough tests. If the man suggested doing more and wants to then let him do more tests. Let him cook bro! Why must you be such a buzzkill sheesh!

Please continue your good work. I very much apprechiate your precise but accessible video clip. I'm on the brink of going electric - and if I do so, it will probably be a Volvo. Warm regards from Vienna, Austria

Performance off doesn’t mean the AWD is off. It will still power all 4 wheels if the circumstances (driver) ask for that. Performance on means the AWD is always on.
@theelectriccarmagazine9 ай бұрын
I know, what I wanted to say is that just because it’s a Twin Engine doesn’t mean it always uses both of them, for that you have to activate performance mode.
@stevecade8579 ай бұрын
There is a short but noticeable delay for the car to switch to awd when traction is lost from the rear as shown by the longer 0-60 times. That short delay could be the difference between making the corner or not. In poor conditions its probably best to drive in awd mode if the slightly reduced range will not be an issue for your journey.

I am Norwegian (and Canadian) so, for my sake, you can use English or Scandinavian. My wife and I have an ID Buzz. My daughter and her husband in California have a BMW i3 and a Tesla model Y. Her in-laws (who live in Canada) have an EX30 on order. So all of these cars are of interest.

Just tested extended range version today. For 84 km trip, consumption was 18kwH/100km. Test car also has 21.5kwh for 1000km since reset
@theelectriccarmagazine9 ай бұрын
Yeha, the problem with these types of tests when you go in a constant speed is that you don't really get real consumption. However, it's a good way to compare to other cars. Will do more normal driving with the EX30 when I can, should get my own within 2-3 weeks now

Thank you. Would be nice to see a more extensive road test.

I didn't understand why it got first time 23 and second time 30 kWh/100km? Is it because of the wind direction or was there a difference in elevation?

What kind of tires are on the car what brand and did you use snow tires. Were the tires stock?
What are your initial impressions of its quality? Compared to Polestars and other Volvo EVs? Since they are getting out to press, I noticed more hard plastics, than I expected. Almost like they took notes from FIAT, mixing higher end design elements with budget materials. I'm seriously considering this or a used Polestar 2, to replace my i3
@theelectriccarmagazine9 ай бұрын
The car feels cheap and content creators calling it "luxurious SUV" is doing it as clickbait in my opinion. Have a video coming on Sunday where I compare it to the XC40. If you find a good deal for the Polestar 2, that is a more premium car. It's older though, and I hate the that there's only one cup holder in the center console :P
@Andrew-qb3oq9 ай бұрын
@@theelectriccarmagazine Thanks, looking forward to that video. XC40 is on a list too. The Polestars in particular have just been plummeting in price in the States. Makes it difficult to pass up. I rented one a couple months ago and came away impressed with the overall package. lol I didn't even think about the cupholder, but my i3 only came with one in the front too. You can buy extra add-on cupholders from BMW at $100 a piece
@theelectriccarmagazine9 ай бұрын
@@Andrew-qb3oq The XC40 is more space than P2 but if you enjoy driving, the P2 is way better. I also think the software in P2 is better than in the XC40, Polestar has a cleaner UI that's easier to navigate. Less space in the cabin though.

I cancelled my reservation because the interior felt very cheap and not luxurious, also very small space in back seats and trunk. Instead prefered to pay a little bit more for Tesla model 3 highland.

Zeekr X? It's the same platform but the Zeekr X is 20 cm longer than the EX30. Have not done a longer test drive with the X so can't say how it does in consumption
