An easy way to remove a stuck injector is loosening up the holder bolts, but not out entirely, then either spin the engine with starter or with a handstart if equipped. The pressure of compression with loosen it up. Don't take the nuts off entirely as the injector can shoot out like a bullet. These motors are simple to work on. I have an md2b. There is a cold weather start button on the governor cover.

That's what I wondered, he didn't mention that cold start brass primer button and with my MD2B I had to use that and also a previous owner put a primer bulb inline from tank. I also turn key for longer.

I feel your pain. Hindsight is always 20:20. I am sure you have things sorted. A long shaft on a bracket? Yves Gelinas (Cape Horn Wind Vane) made a nice one for his Alberg 30.

Уважаемый, пожалуйста, проверьте каталог запчастей Volvon MD1 B на предмет правильной форсунки. Порядок не имеет значения, поскольку MD1 B имеет только один инжектор. Давление предопределено. Спасибо за просмотр. Попутный ветер.

@@SAILINGGOODOLDBOATS хорошо. На самой форсунке, на эжекторе должно быть обозначение. Сниму и посмотрю и выставлю по мануалу. У вас ТНВД стоит на регулировочной прокладке?

Gosh, I pity all that work on this diesel, but we are in very similar situation now with our Albin 82ms and MD-17C, which started to have massive blow-by's - the smoke comes from the rocker pushrods channels (valve covers removed) after 20-30 seconds of work. It doesn't want to idle anymore, it just starts if some throttle is added, and also - dies after a minute. And that happened after having him slightly overheated. I found massive inlet valve leak on 1st cylinder, which can explain poor compression but doesn't explain gases in oil pan. I'm thinkink piston rings blocked as well, but after watching your videos about this heroic onboard overhaul and than one year later - dead... Do you lnow what went wrong with your repair? Should I even try to do it?
