Volvo P1 C30 C70 S40 V50 stuck key fob SCU replacement

If your key is stuck in the ignition but your car is able to turn on, your SCU might need to be replaced.
The part is less than $100 and the job can be done your self, no re programming needed.

I found the right part on ebay with key and switch but all local volvo mechanics I speak to swear a used switch and key has to be reprogrammed, but your experience is that you just swap the part out and it works

No immobilizer issues? I'm doing the same thing on my 2006 v50. I won't need to reprogram anything?
