Volvo Penta MD2020 - new coolant fluid

I mount the electronic box with the glow plug and the starter relays and talk about how the fuse system works.
And then at least I fill up the system with new original Volvo coolant fluid so the system can be protected from corrosion from the inside.
The coolant will then protect the engine for the next 2 years and is the kind there is ready mixed so it protect the engine against frost damage down to -25 centius degrees.
The coolant is the green version for this engine model.

Super interesting series of videos. I binge watched them all. My 2020 doesn’t have the expansion tank and i found some green liquid in the bilge underneath the engine. I first thought it was oil but now I understand. It’s coolant dripping from the little rubber hose plugged to the heat exchanger lid. Thank you so much I now understand my engine much better thanks to you 🙏👍😊

Thanks again Tino! Just a minor comment: the glow plug are not in series ( as you said at 07.17) but parallel, therefore all getting 12 V supply ( in series, they would get 1/3 of the power)

Tino, do you have a good answer to why there is two hoses to the coolant reservoar? There is probably a good reason, I just dont see it...It might be to prevent some kind of airlock?

As I see it there is two various "fresh water coolant" systems on sailboats, one with a pressure cap direct on the engine and one with the pressure cap on the top of the reservoir. The reservoir type keeps bubbles away to prevent rust in the system and is made so the fluid can expand and retract without letting liquid run out of the system. I think the two hoses is made so the hot coolant fluid rises to the top of the reservoir and the cold go to the bottom so it circulates.
