This is exactly my "problem" ! I heard the noise for the first time today and thought it was my coolant reservoir making the sound. But nope, ECU fan! At least I know exactly what it is now, even if I need to fix it. Thank you for this, you're awesome dude!

Some noise is normal, worth checking by hand the fan blades spin freely enough. Removing the ECM cover is difficult, may try to lift the middle half just enough to free the fan

thanks for teaching me something new today! my mother in law has been asking me to find out her mystery noise when she turns off the car that she says is not the fan blowing out the moisture from the AC. i bet this is what she is hearing since it has been unseasonably hot where i live

Welcome. Perhaps also see this video, this is another sound that can happen when switching off the engine, related to the vacuum pump (details in the comments section of the video) kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoPFiHdohKysqs0

Your ECM fan is much louder than mine.I can barely hear it and I know it is working. And these cars also have a A/C after blow feature that will blow air out the vents after using the A/C. When the engine is shut off. It is designed to dry out the evaporator coils so that mold won't stink up the cabin when the A/C is running.

Correct about the ECM fan, I know mine has some wear to it - it still spins easily by hand but not like a new one. As for the cabin blower, mine is not set in Vida to run after using the a/c, I wish it was, maybe next time when I go see the guy with Vida will ask him to change that setting cheers

Hi, really admire your videos. They are awesome. It would be nice if you could make a diy on how to remove the front seats in an S60/V70. Greetings from Sweden and a 2003 Volvo V70 2.5T AWD Nautic Blue Pearl with manual gearbox.

Thanks for feedback, 2.5T AWD manual is an excellent combination. I have a few videos where I talk a little about 2003 seats, about the connectors, how to remove the bottom cushion, headrest, etc Try scrolling down on this playlist - may use CTRL + F to search. The seats are heavy, it would need 2 persons and the headrest may need removed to pull them from the car kzbin.info/aero/PLl-l6yge4ast4eLeuPpECTts0FSVSOT_c Maybe also see this kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKvTkn1qqtGFn8U
