Alright we are 4 episodes in and ready to put things back into the 850.... do you think we are going to have any issues putting things back together in the car? Anything we should be looking out for?
@philiplee76043 жыл бұрын
Just a suggestion... as your subscriber base would be worldwide, and your working only on European cars, it would be very helpful when given torque values to provide Nm as well, under the ftlb value ! Great video “ Dynamic duo”

@@fcpeuro I've been building my 96' 850 (non-turbo 5 Speed) for AutoX and Track use for a while so if it's possible to add that VVIS to the later N/A engines without being overcomplicated seems like it'd be worth doing. Any plans on another #FCPEuroMadness contest btw?

You might have trouble installing the crankshaft position sensor mount after the transmission is bolted to the engine. I know I did...but I had a different model M56.

What would the team's options have been if the synchros needed to be replaced or there was any other issues with the M56? Does FCP carry rebuild kits for the M56?
@omarplat3343 жыл бұрын
Quaife is the best mod. Must have if you are adding power. Also will pay for itself in money saved in tire, you will actually put down power and not blow the tires off.

not sure what you plan for suspension, but would not upgrading the sway bars make sense for a track oriented car? at least noticed a huge difference in cornering at speed and weight transfer on my volvo 740 and 240 i bought IPD sway bars to, think there is some other companies as well that sell for the 850
@fcpeuro3 жыл бұрын
Stale we will do rear swaybar but aside from new bushings/grease the front will be left alone for now. We can always tweak down the road!
@Stale_Mahoney3 жыл бұрын
@@fcpeuro smart, the 850 is a bit understeery even on snow and lift off power so a stiffer rear will balance it out nicely, a friend of mine had one as a track car, he ended up running slics on the front and road tires on the rear before he upgraded the suspension

Loving the progress of this Frankenstein build. Just out of curiosity, what are those absorbent mats you are using on the tool bench and under the transmission? Would like to find something similar to use in my garage that is disposable (been using towels, etc.)

@@robertwinston2496 Ah, I have seen reusable, washable oil absorbing mats at Walmart too, but since they aren't disposable it's not what they used. I searched on amazon and found something called "NPS SFG-70 Spilfyter" which looks almost like what they used in the video
