I swapped my 09 XC70 3.2 to a V8 in April of last year, just in time for Carlisle Import & Performance Nationals in PA! Glad to see this swap getting more attention!

This is so as freaking useful.. I have a s80 v8 in storage and the engine will be dropped and many things replaced… I have been in pursuit of learning till then. I’m sure I’ll see you soon.

That V8 design makes me happy to only have to work on B230FT or FWD "N" series motors!

I'm currently doing valve cover seals on my V8 XC90, after seeing this not looking forward to timing cover seals. Let's hope they don't leak for the foreseeable future!

Great video, fellas. I’m debating whether to replace the engine on my 2010 V70 and would be doing it in my driveway. Was thinking it would make most sense to hoist upwards and out and not down - do you see any issues within pulling the engine that way for this configuration?

It was easier for us due to the engine already being on a complete subframe and using a lift. We have not seen anyone do this through the top. You would have to separate the trans from the motor before trying to remove it as one unit. Either way, it would be easier to just drop everything through the bottom on the subframe.
