untitled795 i am aware that the more aerodynamic a car is the better the MPG or Range is. Tesla is designed around that principle in order to get there claimed near 300 miles of range. But the new facelift on the S and the upcoming model 3 are gorgeous. The X doesn't work for me (I think it's the proportion) it's an oversized S. I feel like it should've been its own entity entirely. And yeah the XC90 probably has the aerodynamic properties of a barge, but it looks far better than X. Still gets 20-23 MPG.

I seriously don't understand how people can be fooled into buying something like GLE/GLS which are essentially very old cars with an interior from 1990s or the ugly Lexus RX with an old hybrid system which is slow and less efficient than diesels or any other hybrids, when there are these cutting edge cars like the brilliant XC90.

God this review was lovely! Alex is the best on Carfection. I do think however, that you wouldn't have said the same about the interior if you had taken the beige interior with the wooden trim, that looks absolutely gorgeous!

The interior does come in other colors and a rear camera is optional so in my opinion the car is great :)

Em@il if you get the R-design, you can only get the black leather interior. The car is so massive that the 360° camera is an absolute must.

Our main family car was a series of V70 Volvo's. They were so comfortable and pleasant to be in. Honestly, this review hits it on the head, Volvos are for people who actually want a car that's nice to be in rather than be seen in (even though this one looks lovely).

i got this car here in the u.s the same exact one pearl white 2016 r-design and i love it. i had the option to get a range rover but felt exactly like he said, i wanted to be different everybody and their mother literally has a range rover, of course i could've gotten one but said nope. this car offers everything i need. amazing on gas, twin turbo, fast when put on dynamic, great family and much more. and about the reverse camera of course they all come standard with reverse cameras.:) if you're thinking about getting this car you don't have to hesitate, it is a great choice. people have given me so many compliments about it, i think not even if i had a range rover i would get that many compliments. it's just beautiful and different..

Love this XC90 I currently have a 06 Volo S60 AWD and I love it I hate to get rid of it when it's time but until then I'll keep it because it's so luxurious like a BMW or audi with my all wood steering wheel

The soft plastic engine cover is not for pedestrian protection, it's to help muffle engine noise from the smaller 4-cylinder engines which would run less smoothly than a 6 or 8 cylinder engine. If you manage to go through the hood of the car during a collision, I'm pretty sure an engine cover isn't going to help you much...

Nice review! Godmother has old one and there's a lot to like, but I wouldn't get one. Hard to feel the size in narrow spaces and where the front ends, on smallest possible rims ride isn't as plush I hoped for a Volvo and 2 and 3 rows are a bit cramped for 1.86 cm tall and above. Wonder if in 5 seat version you get the seats further back for more legroom? Multivan might be better option?

The only thing I don't like about this new XC90 is it lost the split tailgate of the previous one. My Gf has an '06 XC90 and that is one of my favorite features on it.

They should offer them with some more spec options.. Interior choice is pretty limited in all its beauty. It almost feels like it came out more high end than they expected. But it's amazing, I've driven one and loved it. The light interior really brightens it up. I'd take a V90 over this and everything else. I wish..

I wholeheartedly agree with ghagen888. No cameras on it. LEARN TO DRIVE! The world is filled with too many wheel turners and not enough actual drivers. Vehicles are equipped with 3 mirrows, THOSE are your park assist. Lovely review from the Carfection team.
