I purchased a Ruelmann Rottweiler in the early 90's you were located just off the 15 frwy and your Mom was pregnant. Our dog was Danish if I remember correctly, Excellent dog and very smart We trained her at 5 months and that dog was Never tethered or required a leash after that. She lived almost 13 years and was never sick. I love that dog

I adopted a Rottweiler from an animal shelter and when I brought it to the vet he checked immediately if she was spayed. He said someone spent thousands on this dog. She had perfect color, her head was portioned correctly for the body and her legs were long. I’ve looked for a dog like her and can’t find one like that. We had her 11 years. I miss her.

They can be tough to control for newer Rottweiler owners. When they get bigger and start feeling then self they are known to test the owners dominance. Other than that you couldn't ask for a better dog. They are my favorite dog brees.

My family and I have a 15 month year old Rottweiler! We love him, he loves us and he loves children. His best friend is our pet rabbit and he gets along with him and looks out for his safety from wild cats and birds in the backyard. They’re an absolute awesome breed, I highly recommend BUT make certain you socialise them with young kids and other dogs from a very young age consistently!
@BudgetGainsByJJ4 жыл бұрын
@@bigred9991 This is true, that’s why they have to be swarmed with love by the whole family and at the same time be under a “firm hand” or the owner must always appear dominant and/or as the leader, otherwise a Rottweiler will take the opportunity to test the owner for the leadership/dominant role.

They’re great dogs. I have a Rottweiler/husky (yes I know, I bought him in a parking lot), and he’s a great companion. Especially when it comes to protection as he’s protected me from a few dog attacks. The only shame is they don’t live long enough :(

I just did a breeding with a male that I purchased from him a few years ago and I tell you what they are perfect I don't do any bike work or any Protection work with my dogs reason being the way these animals are bred it's all genetic they protect all by themselves and this is a fact I would pay somebody to come to my home guaranteed it will be their last visit

just goes to show, owning even one Rhottweiler is a full time job. There is a large investment in time and resources, you have to be able to laugh it off when your cell phone goes missing and your groceries disappear off of the counter. But the payoff is worth it There simply is no other breed with the endearing personality of a Rhottweiler. No other dog that obsesses on loving, watching and protecting their owner with all their heart and soul.

We had Inported GSD growing up, when I moved out on my own went to work for a dog trainer who had a couple Rotty's he worked and breed, I had always liked Rotts but after working with his dog's for a couple of months I was sold lol.! I had an opportunity to get in on a deal from his guy in Germany who also had a couple GSD's any way he offered to me a 5 mo. male he had been keeping for himself and sending pup's to the other guy. Long story short we almost got in to a fist fight soon as he saw what I had, A Monster that was as big as his 3yo bitch, with the darkest rust color I've seen on a Rott. I think it was the first time he had heard working line's and he was pissed.lol. This was back in the day when the show circle was over run by the NWO and butchered the working breeds. Turned out the dog I got was from the grandparents who were still farming and never went to dog shows, bred for working. I'm lucky to have had such dog's, don't get me wrong there's some beautiful examples like yours but sadly far n few between. Now I found what I think is the perfect dog for me. Presa canario. Still love the GSD, And Rotties, If I had your place I'd have a couple of each. Lol.. Maybe a dogo Argentina. Sorry for the long post the cane corso made me do it.! That's one breed that's been bastardized for years, there still fighting about in Italia

I think many underestimates what this breed needs. They are loveable and cuddly and loyal. They are very particular with their diet (not cheap) like you we have to make it. They are emotional, jealous and very sociable. They have a bite that you will never forget and it will happen so fast you wont see it coming. Untrained it will drag 4 children across the road if that's where it wants to go. They are protectors so other children play fighting with yours is not a great idea.

hi! I have an 18 month old male Rotti, intact. LOVE HIM! But some questions: What age to you advise your puppy owners to nuter if they plan to? And at the teenager stage... how do you help them to stay calm while around people, and other dogs? He is not agressive, or anything, just super wound up the moment he sees a person or dog. I have been trying to give "time outs" ( 5 minute breather away from new people after the first meet)... so he can have a moment to breath and calm down, but these only work sometimes. Any tips would be appreciated!!!

Maybe run him more to get the excitement out if him before he goes and sees someone or a new dog..
@yaro1564 жыл бұрын
I wouldnt nouter him at all. I have a 3 year old male (rafael vom Tannenfeld). To keep him calm you need him to have attention on you. Meaning you have to be more exciting than the dog or other people. Maybe you need to work the dog more (mental and physical). If hes bored ofc he wants to have fun.
