I've rode BMW's for nearly 50 years- all S's and RS's. When I saw the Rocker Red GT at my dealer (who sells both brands) I fell in love, again. Lol. 1 month earlier I bought a Classic 350- also fell in love. Cheaper than getting married again, lol. Just subscribed to your channel- love your presentation. 👍👍5🏍🙋♂️

We need more reviews of motorcycles like this gentleman does! Watching the video felt like a gentleman telling me with his experience which bike I should buy and that he really cares that I am happy when I buy the bike. Kudos to you Sir! Keep the great work going on! A man of culture! A true gentleman!

The GT was the OG they were working for and the Interceptor was a happy little surprise the team stumbled upon in the development process and the way i see it, is that the Interceptor is the bike that rakes in the money for the company but the GT is always THE bike most folk aspire too...its like FIAT and a Ferrari for me but very closely priced!

I live about 20 miles from this dealer in Pembroke VA. Great dealer, just feel like that needs to be said because the biggest obstacle to not selling more RE bikes in the USA may well be that the dealers are pretty sparse in most regions. In Virginia we have 2 for sure and may a new one, so three. That’s a lot for the USA but Virginia is fairly big and they are not that close together. For example the fellow here rode 2 hours for a service. RE are a wonderful option for riders, we can all hope they get some dealers set up!

Thanks for a great, in-depth comparison. I’m not interested in either of these bikes. I miss your Himalayan & Monkey episodes, but that’s my riding style. I feel like my 2006 Kawasaki KLR650 would best either of these two, but they’re totally different bikes. Adventure bike vs road bike doesn’t really compute. The train boxcars tour would be interesting. I’m awaiting delivery of a 2024 Triumph Scrambler 1200XE. Will let you know how it goes. Rock On…

I test rode a gorgeous Racer Red GT before the INT and totally loved it! That's why I went with the INT. I was only a year and 10,000 miles back into riding (on a sweet Himalayan....thanks Itchy Boots) and I knew I'd get way too Carl Fogartyish (LOL!!!) with the GT and might hurt myself or it. I think you're correct about the low-speed maneuverability, and for me at 5'6" it feels really relaxed and easy to handle, but I think I want a GT for a while :)

I bought a '22 GT in Dux Deluxe 2 years ago.... I checked out an interceptor as well.... It was almost a tough choice... both bikes were the color I was interested in, the riding position was so similar for me that it didn't matter, then the feels kicked in and my beautiful bike was brought home...

I was kind of the same way,.. I knew I made the right choice after picking it up once I got it out of city traffic and was able to stretch its legs. The sensation was just what I was looking for.

it was 33* out when I shot this, I was freezing my butt off trying to do the presentation.... plus I had just ridden 2 hrs in the cold and this is actually the 2nd filming. I originally shot it in the spot by the windows (where I took the on the bikes pics) but road noise killed the audio, so I moved behind the building and reshot everything. Needless to say the ride home wasn't any warmer!

I’ve always loved the looks of the original Royal Enfield GT250 so when the GT650 in Rocker Red was born, it was love at first site. Never even considered the Interceptor.
@ScooterintheSticks9 ай бұрын
I looked pretty hard at both of those motorcycles. More at the Interceptor than the GT because rightly or wrongly I was worried my arthritis in my hands, wrist and back would have trouble with the more aggressive riding position. But I never got the chance to find out because I bought a Kawasaki W650 when it popped up in front of me. I always find your videos useful. If not in specific details then in how your thought process works when considering motorcycles, performance, and utility. It has warmed slightly here so I'll be able to ride tomorrow with the temperatures hitting 40F. Now I just have to decide between the Himalayan and the W650...

I was frozen trying to film this, I rode down there at 33F and had to stand outside filming this twice and then ride home for another 2 hours. I was a shivering mess by the time I got home.
@kyledickenson14947 ай бұрын
I explained the difference to a friend like this: given what they both are, a cheap 47 hp fairly laid back back, the interceptor is probably a better choice overall. It doesn't try to be something it's not. When you're riding the GT on the other hand, you want to start carving canyons and keeping up with the faster bikes due to the aggressive stance, which it's not really well suited for. That said, I own a GT and I absolutely love it. But I definitely run the hell out of it because it encourages you to do so.
@motofan27269 ай бұрын
I have owned both and I miss more the Continental, at higher speeds it definitely feels more stable, I was able to take it to the triple digits not the case with the int650. Great videos

I had a deposit on the Interceptor- moved it to a Classic 350 which I bought- but always liked the look of the GT. I bought an almost new ‘21 GT a year ago - now the Classic and my ‘15 Bonneville are for sale (sold), and the GT stays. It is not my everyday vehicle- it’s my fire breathing girlfriend whom lives with the wife and me, but the wife doesn’t know how we get along. Also, after 45 years of riding, the GT is what was the dream 50 years ago.

I visited my local Royal Enfield dealership with a view to purchasing a Continental GT like that one with the chrome tank, I ended up there and then buying a BSA Gold Star 650 Legacy Edition. The BSA an ex-demonstration model with only 16 miles on the clock, it cost me £1000 less than a brand new one. That's a bargain in anyone's books.
