I paired this with the Vornado 279TR and my entire apartment cooled down within minutes. I had the Transom in reverse to blow air out the window and the 269TR across the apartment on the ground at a 45 degree, blowing air at the ceiling. Now, I don’t have to use the loud and inefficient apartment AC.

If one lives in a city that has Stink Bugs, this fan is going to be a major problem. Stink Bugs can climb inside and come right into one’s residence!

I recommend keeping the screen in on the window. I have my screen in the window no issues with bugs 🐛

Can you mount this vertically? My windows open side to side not up and down. And should you install this with the screen on or the screen off?

The units directions say to only install this one flat. I’ve seen people install them sideways but I think over time the bearings will wear down.

Hello. I couldn't quite tell from your video but is there a mesh when you slide up to open your window meaning that is there a mesh between your Vornado Transom Fan and the opening to the outside? My house window is designed in the way that when the window is slide up, there is still a mesh screen covering the opening to prevent insects from coming into the house. Would this unit work with my type of arrangement? Also, the main purpose of my purchase is to get rid of food smell out of my dining room as my stove exhaust fan is not strong enough to do so (also currently using box fan like you did).

I have a screen behind the fan yes 👍 A box fan does move more air. Id recommend investing the money into a replacement for the stove fan only reason it’s built more for cooking

DOES THIS FAN LET IN BUGS???????? Namely STINK BUGS? Stink Bugs are notorious gangsters! Can they come into one’s residence through the openings in the fan on the outside of the window. Can they climb in from the back of the fan, to the front of the fan and then right into one’s residence? I would think they can.

Keep the screen in the window this works fine. If you don’t have a screen I would order one on Amazon
