Just finished my first 2.4 build, and I have to say this series of build videos is the best I have found, including build videos from well known Voron team members. Saved me a lot of time and grief in places where the printed manual was less clear. I also like that it is divided into manageable chapters, so it is easier to find what you are looking for without jumping around in a 6 hour marathon video. Thanks alot!

Thanks so much for your videos, I installed the klicky probe and macros and I'm having an issue as to when I home Z, the position thinks its 450mm from the bed and tries to dig into the bed, as such time I have to E-Stop. Discord forum said to wire the probe to the endstop for better results, but I don't know if that will help.

Great videos, I watched them to put my 2.4 together, but you were only up to the wiring stage at that point, so I came back to see where you are now. I see someone mentioned to you that you cable chains were backwards and it looks like you did tht for X and Y which fixed them. You should do the Z one as well, as I had the same on all of mine and although it is a pain, they look a lot better now.
@scottcorn2 жыл бұрын
I reversed my X and Y to look better. They do have issues this way though. If you don't get them just right they will lift the carriage right at the outer limits of travel or prevent the it from going all the way to the end. I almost think having them with the flexible end reversed may be a better solution. I'm not going to change them back though. I did find the spot where it doesn't lift and doesn't limit.

There was a version of mainsail maybe 18 months ago that had this problem is all that comes to mind. Have you refreshed the browser? Browsers tend to cache things. Awesome video! I'm looking at the MandalaRoseworks bed for my printer as well. Have you had any trouble with the magnets creating cold spots on the bed? I've seen thermal images of beds with magnets in them and the magnets are much colder than the rest of the bed. Also wondering what brand of flex plate you're using. Neither brand recommended by MR offers a textured plate option. Thanks!
@scottcorn Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I've not had any issues with temperature with the bed. I do a 15 - 20 minute heat soak when I first start though. I'm unsure of uneven heating if you don't do a heat soak. The flex plate I'm currently using is a Fabreeko V2.4/trident Dual Sided PEI. It looks like it is sold out at the moment. The HoneyBadger single Sided black PEI Textured for voron V2.4 and Trident at Fabreeko would be about the same, but one sided and black. I have one of these, but I've not yet used it.

Thanks for all the video! I followed your video for the klicky install but it’s having issues homing since the z is out of range. I was going to try the virtual z to get unblocked but was just curious if the video is missing a step. Did you also do the Automatic Z Calibration ? I wasn’t sure if that’s optional or required. Thanks again!
@scottcorn Жыл бұрын
I have not done the auto Z calibration. I started to and then I heard tap was close. As far as I can see I haven't skipped any steps. First thing is make sure you are getting the signal from the switch. If so maybe the safe starting Z height you entered in the config is too high? If not maybe your Z end stop maybe too high above the bed? (Shaft too long) Doesn't seem likely, but it's the only thing that comes to mind. The error seems to be that it didn't detect the click within the distance it thinks it should have.

@scottcorn2 жыл бұрын
Sorry, was down and out with Covid this weekend. This usually is because there is an existing mesh in the config that isn't compatible. Go to your mesh screen and make sure any are deleted. When it is down to one mesh you have to reboot after deleting to get rid of it. Run the mesh again then and see if the error is gone.
@azdronedude2 жыл бұрын
@@scottcorn do you mean in printer.cft if so I just have [bed_mesh] speed: 300 horizontal_move_z: 10
@scottcorn2 жыл бұрын
I said the wrong screen. In Mainsail it is the heightmap screen. It is in the printer.cfg but it's in the do not edit area at the bottom under [bed_mesh default]. I would use the UI to delete it. It would be a good idea to see if you have an entry under [bed_mesh default] at the bottom though.

@scottcorn2 жыл бұрын
I'm unsure of the voltage. Just make sure that there is continuity when connected to the wires. The continuity should stop when the microswitch is pressed. If no continuity check the continuity across just the magnets. If none there check across the pins of the switch. If none there the switch is bad.
