They definitely do. There's a nice mod that even creates a cableway for the cables to go through it but, if I'm honest we got lazy and didn't want to pull the Z Idler's off to 'do it right' if you will. I'm sure we'll get to it soon!

great video on how to do it, direct and straight forward! so how do you actually control the LEDS? do you have to run a console command? can you use Klipperscreen? Is there a button on mainsail? everything else was super clear.

sweet! thx for the info specially about using the BLTouch input.. i was looking at rgb extension boards to upgrade my lights but this works perfect. Can i also use any 5v to add a buzzer to my LDO? the factory buzzer pin is part of the ribbon cable header for the display and the display with LDO doesnt have a buzzer.
@MapleLeafMakers
@MapleLeafMakers Жыл бұрын
No problem! Glad you found it helpful. Are you using a touch screen display?
@eraldylli
@eraldylli Жыл бұрын
If its a buzzer with a coil inside, I would use a transistor or optoisolator to turn it on. It may be unnecessary to do that, I'm not 100% sure, but thought I'd mention it.

@@3rdPedalMedia Well good news! This definitely has a buzzer then! We use it in our LDO 2.4 R2 kit. It's built into the display itself. Just configure it in your printer.cfg and you can send it tones! We made our 'LDO' (named El Dio) play 'Holy Diver'!

You should add a link to the LED strip you are using to the description, could even be a ref link if its from Amazon or AliExpress to help the channel.

Nice Video. Can the board safely handle that voltage? Can you change colors?
@MapleLeafMakers
@MapleLeafMakers Жыл бұрын
The board is made for that voltage, yes. The strips we used are RGBW allowing us to individually change colours on each as we want. We use the LED Effects plugin for klipper and will have a video on how to configure that soon!

Please make an actual in depth video explaining the wiring for all types of boards (2 RGB Specific headers, 1 RGB Header, None and what types you can use) Then explain the why, and how to determine what pin's you're using. etc. Explain why you put what you put in the .cfg. Your videos keep showing up when I google an issue, you obviously pick good topics, but I find your content is very surface level. One of the biggest things i've noticed when doing this whole Voron/klipper thing is that so much of the content goes into it with the assumption you know all the ins and outs. That's one of the most discouraging things about klipper as a whole. You obviously know your stuff. I'd really like to know why my printer won't boot when I plug my LED's in. lol. There's not a single tutorial out there on actually installing them.
@MapleLeafMakers
@MapleLeafMakers 8 ай бұрын
Hey there, sorry to disappoint. Klipper configuration isn't something you'll ever really see us cover in a video. Things change too quicky in software, and klipper has excellent documentation already. There is nothing that can cause your printer to stop booting with RGB LED's plugged in except a short in the wiring. Double check that + always goes to +, - always goes to - and they never cross. a multimeter is a very useful tool to find shorts. There aren't a lot of videos about configuring RGB Leds because there really isn't anything to show. They either work or they don't, and the only way you can screw up the configuration is to give it the wrong pin name. These pin names are documented on the pinout diagrams for the controller boards, every board is different. If you have the correct pin name, and your wiring is correct, then you should see some activity on your LEDs when you tell them to turn on. it might not be the RIGHT activity (they may flicker, or show the wrong colors, or only a few leds might light up) but you should see *something*. if you don't, then your wiriing is almost certainly the problem. the color_order, and chain_count settings can be used to correct the colors, or get the correct number of leds to light up (respectively). but they are never responsible for the leds completely 'not working'. that's always a physical problem.

@@MapleLeafMakers Thanks for the reply. You were right, it was a wiring issue. I have 2 printers with the same boards, one's on the Din Rail in one direction, the other is flipped and of course I read the pinouts wrong, sometimes I think sleep is important when tired :) Thanks again for taking the time to reply to a curmudgeon like me. All is working now.
