In June 2023 a mutiny by the Russian Mercenary Wagner Group vs the Russian Military took place in Rostov-On-Don, Russia.
Wagner Group, are a Private Military Contractor / Mercenary organisation who were led by Russian oligarch Yevgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin. His mutiny was a show of defiance against Russian President Vladimir Putin's incompetent leadership of the Russia/Ukraine War, and the large amount of Russian battle casualties.
At the height of this mutiny, which became headline news in the West; Western mainstream media such as the BBC, CNN and printed media began running a sensationalist story alleging that Prigorshin's Wagner Group Mercenaries had captured or were about to capture the Russian "National Level Nuclear Weapons Storage Facility" at Voronezh-45. They claimed that Wagner, a rogue Mercenary /Terror Organisation would effectively become a nuclear power that could threaten NATO, hold Putin and the West to nuclear blackmail.
Very quickly though this story was proved to be complete fake news, which was allegedly created by the Ukrainian government for propaganda purposes. It was comprehensively debunked by both the Russian Government and the US White House, even by Wagner themselves. But the damage was done in terms of frightening the always nervous western general public, to the threat of nuclear terrorism.
This video examines how the Western MSM outlets were duped into publishing a fake news / propaganda story about Wagner's WMDs, almost exactly 20 years after being duped by the US and British Governments about Saddam Hussein's Iraqi WMDs in 2003. And how so called professional, impartial journalists failed again to conduct basic fact checks before running a sensationalist story. This video, like this whole channel is politically neutral, but reminds viewers clearly to be so very careful what you choose to believe in the US and UK MSM.
In this video we do the MSMs research for them, uncovering the facts of the genesis of the Wagner nuclear story and then a look in detail at Russia's huge Voronezh-45 Nuclear Facility... including how well protected it is compared to the MSM claims it was effectively derelict and abandoned with Russian nuclear weapons 'unprotected'.
Starting at first with the Cold War History of what was once a Soviet Union Special Operations Centre, discovered first by American U2 Spy planes and early Spy Satellites in the early 1960s. We finish with a virtual tour inside a present day Russian 'Theta' Nuclear Storage structure in 2023.
The capture of Russian Federation Nuclear weapons may have been false, but things didn't end well for Yevgeny Prigozhin or his Wagner Group after the mutiny.....with him quickly meeting karma in an 'accident'. His demise is a familiar one if you follow and understand Russian Politics, and has been happening to 'problem people' since the era of Grigori Rasputin......

I lost a rather long relevant comment when the original clip got taken down for review & t's worth informing any subscribers. So here's a reconstruction. The fact of the location of Voronezh-45 being no where near the actual Voronezh is a classic textbook Soviet modus operandi to obfuscate. I've followed Space activities since I was a kid and this reminded me of the same obfuscation when the Soviets founded the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, which was no where near the actual mining town of Baykonur (renamed to the Kazakh name Baiqongyr after the USSR collapsed) . In reality, the Cosmodrome was located 320 km (200 miles) to the southwest at Tyuratam!

Those triple fences were a really great security feature. The likelihood of anyone actually trying to sneak into a facility in the middle of the Soviet Union was pretty minimal, but they did make it easy for photographic analysts interpreting reconnaissance images to spot sensitive sites. Essentially the Soviets were drawing circles around anything they didn't want outsiders to look at.

Prigozhin is reported as having stated that he was tired of packaging his young men in zinc caskets whilst the sons of the politicians at home posted Instagrams of their morning makeup routines online. You kind of have to love him for that! I understand that. the Wagner Brigade is more the equivalent of the French Foreign Legion than a simple mercenary army. He was a hot head that wanted to be unleashed to completely overrun Ukraine whereas Putin was happy for the Ukrainian forces to batter themselves to death in well fortified killing fields. I would be interested in hearing your take on the story thus far. Anyway, excellent briefing McLoone! Any questions gentlemen?😂

Once again, thank you for the interesting video. Concerning Prigozhin, the lesson he should have known is that if you initiate a king's murder, you must see it through to the end; if you stop midway, you face dire consequences - as Prigozhin must be labeled an idiot

I would love to check one of these places out. I have spent way too much time inside and worked in similar American facilities and I am so curious what Russian ones look like. You would expect the U.S stuff to be nicer and better but the Soviets and Russians spare no expense on their nuclear weapons program, its the crown jewl of their military and I bet they are pretty nice. In all the American facilities, I got the sense that nobody designing it ever thought it would be attacked. Soviet facilities always gives me the impression that they thought the facility being nuked was inevitable and that they built things accordingly

it‘s highly doubtful we know everything that occurred during the mutiny. We know that security details who served their nuclear forces were sent to be bagged in Ukraine. Considering their location and obvious risk to be sent to Ukraine we can’t surely state that Budanov was absolutely wrong and all was fine on this base. Interesting walk-around.
