Very informative and straight to the point. This has helped me make my decision on a range-finding binoculars. Well done!

Your video was very informative on a common person level and is most appreciated. Its a big decision to drop 1-3k on binos, thanks for the video. I agree that the Vortex are a pretty good buy given what your getting and not getting for another 2k.

They are great. I wouldn’t mind trying out the Applied Ballistics version.

@@AdventureColorado While testing these I was able to range a pickup towing a fifth wheel camper moving on a highway 4,047 yards away! They certainly give me great readings for varmint shooting out past 1000 yards with no problem which is what I wanted them for. My Kestrel has the AB software.
@AdventureColorado2 жыл бұрын
@@hbudsmalley6317 that’s really impressive! I’ll have to look for a large reflective target to push the range! The AB software is great, especially in the Kestrel.

I just bought a pair of the HD’s wondering how you like them so far new to the game any help thanks

I still really like these binoculars. I would like the newer option to have integrated ballistics, but I do like the glass and rangefinder performance.

So, one of the things I’m into, is higher end airgun hunting… is the aiming point precise enough to range small animals at, say, 100-200 yds?
@AdventureColorado2 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure what the exact size or angular measurement of the laser is, but I believe it would be fairly accurate for small animals out to 100 yards for sure, by 200 you might need to range a nearby tree or larger object. You can set it to range the first or last object to range an animal in front of brush or tree limbs (first), or to range an animal behind brush or limbs (last).

Has anyone done an accuracy ranging on these binos
@AdventureColorado3 жыл бұрын
I have not seen any independent, thorough comparisons of the accuracy of these compared to other brands. The Precision Rifle Blog did a very thorough comparison of range finders a few years ago, but that was before Vortex released the Fury.
@Goinghot3 жыл бұрын
I cannot tell you about the Vortex Fury's as far as accuracy. But I have a set of Leica B2000's, and the Sigs. I've ranged the same targets out to about a thou with both. There was literally only a yard difference even out to almost a thou! With today's technology most anything you buy that's a grand or more will be more accurate than you can shoot into a "danger zone". I won't explain what that is. That's beyond the scope of this comment and review.
@AdventureColorado3 жыл бұрын
@@Goinghot It's good to hear your experience with the accuracy of those optics. I know that Precision Rifle Blog did a comparison of a few range finders a few years ago and he did find some issues, that's an interesting read, but doesn't include some of the more recent options available.

Hi, about binoculars and about the quality of the lenses, at what level does it stand in the scale of vortex binoculars? Diamondback? Viper? More or less? Thanks a lot
@AdventureColorado4 жыл бұрын
They are about the same level of glass as the Viper.

Awesome vid! I just picked up one of these, so far I’m digging them. where did you get that tripod from? It might pick one up after seeing your video.
@AdventureColorado3 жыл бұрын
I bought it many years ago for photography. Most decent quality aluminum or carbon fiber tripods will work just fine.

dang thats what I was going to ask. figured I would check the comments first. is it still usable for left eye dominant people. or is it a bit difficult because its in the right eyepiece of the binos

Most companies rate based on reflective targets. I was still impressed with real readings at distances beyond what the average shooter will use. That's the real test of a rangefinder, how does it perform in actual field conditions? Thanks for watching!
