Time to see if the Gen II is a real evolution of the Gen I or not. Some of the changes are nice. But time will tell to see if its a worthy upgrade from the Gen I.

I had the 1-6. Replaced it with the viper gen 2 1-6. Massive improvement. The mil or MOA reticle is easy to match up with your load and barrel length. The glass is clearer and illumination is brighter. It's is in my opinion the best bang for buck since the prices started dropping. I've learned that BDC reticles are only worth it if you shoot the load it was designed for in the barrel length it was designed for. Classic mil or moa reticles are great after a short learning curve.

Correct and Correct. MOA vs MIL on a LPVO like this really doesnt matter all that much. The drops rarely do line up. but all the more reason to shoot and shoot and shoot and figure out where it hits at where.

@@CDOES typical 55gr loads out of my 14.5" ar, with a 50 yard zero are dead on at 500 yards at 3 mil. 1 and 2 mil are close enough for shooting steel at 300 and 400 yards respectively. 0-200 is just a dead hold. Heavier loads line up fairly close as well. Works well for non-precision competition. The most important part is shooting your rifle and knowing it inside and out.

Bought my first LPVO a few months ago and it was this scope. I've had the chance to use it out to 500 yards with consistent hits in my 5.56 on steel silhouette. I've run it as CQB and it really feels no different than running my reflex sight on my other firearms for quickness and target acquisition. I ran it during a night shoot and in total darkness it was great out to 70 yards (farthest we shot that night) set to 4x. I do really like the reticle as well as the BDC and range estimator but it is NOT daylight bright. The only real issue I have with mine is the 'fish-eye' effect at upper powers. I don't really notice it much except when moving side to side. I've also found that finding my preferred brightness setting and then rotating the dial backwards half notch until reticle goes out works pretty well, just hope it doesn't soften the spring up. All in all I'm pretty happy for my first LPVO. Good review. I enjoy your content. Thanks

They will be ok as long as you understand the limitations. Its just for the price you can get slightly better options. Or even save a little and get the 1-6.

with optics like this, I lament the fact that the company chooses to pick features that look good on the box, but not good in practice. These cheaper optics should be 1-6x or, better yet, 1-4x. That is perfectly acceptable to the range these are used at (

They make this exact scope in 1-6x for $100 cheaper and they make a 1-4x in their crossfire line of scopes.

TRACT has done beyond my dream; a 1-8x24mm30mm? Bless Tract! Well, Tract did the development of the 1-8x, but I did not buy Tract after one year of viewing 1-8x, and 1-10x scopes, so I purchased Vortex Viper 2-10x FFP/MOAx32mm objective lenses, but the only downside is the weight @26.3oz.

I know this has nothing to do with this video but I own the DELTA STRIKER HD and I would like to know everything about the benefits of using the reticle and all the features of it like you just said about reading the book on this Vortex scope before using it. And my scope didn't come with a book in the box because I bought it used. So can you help me out if you know of any videos or sights can you point me to. Thank you very much my friend. And one more question, I never torqued it with a torqued wrench, I just tightend it up, could I possibly damaged it with out using a torque wrench.
@46dgarrison
@46dgarrison 2 жыл бұрын
I know one important thing about the Delta Stryker. And that is the reticle is in one form and the turrets are in another. What I mean is one thing is moa and the other is mil. They don’t match up which is really weird. Especially for how nice that Delta Stryker is.
@josiahb55

@@46dgarrison That was only the first run and was a mistake between them and the OEM. All the new scopes with the new branding (three blue stars on the battery cap) are all mil/mil reticles and turrets.

Basics: MOA=minute of angle i.e. if a whole revolution is 360°, take 1° and further divide it into 60 smaller pieces. If rounded to one decimal 1MOA = 1 inch @100yards. Mrad= mil radian i.e. 1/1000 of a radian. Radians are an alternative unit for angles used extensively in math. 2pi (~6.28) is one revolution. It just so happens that 1 mrad is almost exactly 10cm @100m, making it a convenient unit for anybody using the metric system. Reticle: The scope has 1mil subtensions for drop and wind. These can be used for rough ranging or holds for longer range shooting. Ranging: By logic if 10cm is 1mil @100m, then it will measure 0.5mils @200m, a third @300m etc. So if I know my target is approximately 1 foot (30.48cm) wide and it measures 1mil on the reticle, I know the target is ~300m (~330yds) away. Drop: You can use a ballistic calculator to approximate your bullet drop and then either use the reticle to have proper hold OR dile in the given drop and aim with the center of your crosshair. If you happened to get one of the early models with moa clicks, but mil reticle I'd advice you to zero the scope once and then only shoot with holds (That's what ppl usually do with lpvo:s anyway). Disclaimer: I don't know the level you're at, so I just poured out a quick general tutorial. Further questions/comments are welcome.

@@jussimakarussi thank you for answering me i usually do use hold over or under by the hash marks on my DELTA STRIKER HD. But im shooting with a PCP EDGUN LESHYI 30 CALIBER. And it works beatiful on the gun, I love the fact I can see the illuminated red dot and put it on my target and basically hit it every single time out to 50, 60 yards and using 1 dot or hash mark hold over out to 75 yards and hitting my target also. So next time I'm gonna try it out to 100 yards just using the hold over marks on my reticle to see which one it is. Im not interested shooting any farther then a 100 yards with a airgun. But this scope works perfect with my EDGUN PCP and people were stating that this scope isn't good for a airgun and they were totally wrong because it works better then any other scope I had on my gun because of just being able to put that little red dot and focus on my target.

Any chance a review for the Primary arms 1-6 FFP raptor? I have been eyeballing this for a long time but IDK if it is worth comparing to strike eagles . Also if this is a FFP design, I would much not worry about the soft image at 8x u think ?

From my experiences between FFP and SFP optics of the same breed. The SFP's are usually a bit better. Ala Credo 1-6's.I might be getting a FFP PA soon. So hopefully well all find out. But a FFP 1-6 is a very specific item.
