These animations are super useful for teaching FFP and SFP. Just the way the movements are timed with your script draw your eye to show exactly what you are talking about. Most animations are just zoom in, zoom out, this is heads and shoulders above. Nicely done!

Also, with the fixed parallax set to 125yds, I think it's important to note that the max parallax error is less than a half inch from 15yds all the way out to 230yds, and that would be with the scope shadow TOUCHING the cross hairs (you'd really have to be trying to see that kind of error)! Realistically you'll see a lot less than that. Most people worry too much about parallax because they don't understand it.

@@cletustollery6914 Pretend that your reticle isn't just something floating in front of you, but something actively projecting out to the environment physically like a laser with a stop function. So if your parallax is set to 100yds, but you're shooting at 200yds, you'll be able to make the terminal point of the laser shift up, down, left, right since it didn't reach the end, and your viewing angle affects it. If instead you set it to 200yds, you're "touching" your target and your viewing angle won't matter much since your reticle is "touching" your target and any variances in viewing angle will be miniscule.

I've been doing a lot of research on a new scope for my 18" barrel AR because I am taking off the holosun 510c w/ magnifier and putting that on an AR pistol. High end build that I wanna test limits on. This will be the first time I have put a scope on an AR and by product, company and service, I am 100% sold on vortex. I don't want a huge scope, needs to be FFP, prefer illumination, smaller MOA, mainly 150-400 yards usage and I would appreciate any wisdom. Buddy just built an all Noveske/ Geissele AR put a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6 on it for a "starting point" and I was VERY impressed, although that gun needs a bit more money in optics. I am not interested in competition, night shooting or buying things twice (buy once, cry once). This scope might be transferred to longer range gun at a later date, but nothing over 700. I just purchased the 1x8 ffp. I believe it has resettable turrets. How easy is that process? Is it a screwdriver or special proprietary tool?
@VortexOpticsUSA
@VortexOpticsUSA 2 жыл бұрын
You are able to reindex the turrets on the Strike Eagle 1-8x24 FFP. To reindex the turrets hold the elevation/windage turret cap firmly between your thumb and forefinger to prevent and rotation, use the 2mm hex wrench to loosen and remove the central screw on the top of dial. Next, gently pull the turret dial straight up and off of the turret post, being careful not to rotate the post. Then you'll want to reinstall the turret dial, lining up the "0" mark with indexing mark on the scope body and replace the central screw on top of the dial. Replace the cap and you'll be good to go my friend! If you have any questions about this process or anything else feel free to give us a call at 1-800-4VORTEX as well!

I love Vortex. Their glass is always so brilliant and clean, their forever warranty gives me an invaluable peace of mind and no one even comes close to their customer service... that said... I'm sick to my stomach right now. I just found out that the Viper HS I paid 800 for is now selling for 299? This loss literally turns my stomach. I take immaculate care of all of my firearms and optics. NOTHING I've purchased EVER has devalued more than 20%... a lot of it has gone up. But a 65% loss? I'll never be able to buy anything new from you again. As my eyes age and I desire to shoot longer, I was getting really excited about picking out my first super high magnification fancy optic, and I've got to go rummaging through your bargain basket or to pick a new company. I also just decided to add RDS to all of my pistols because of my eyes, after hours of research I had it narrowed down to you or Trijicon. Since I love your scopes so much I was really rooting for my research to justify buying from you. It ended up being pretty much a tie making it an easy decision to go with you due to all of the goodwill you've built, but almost as an afterthought I checked on how your prices held up... and I'm literally crushed. A 500 dollar loss is a big deal to some of us. I wouldn't ever even want to sell this scope, but I need to have the peace of mind to know that if i need to I can. I'm scared to even look up my Diamondbacks... discontinued? What are they gonna be selling for? 20 bucks? I know it's pathetic whining in a comment section no one will even see, but it kinda felt good.

Major miss in my opinion not including non bdc/mrad reticles on the new 1-8. LPVOs are becoming more and more used for hunting and non .223/ar15 uses. The market is underserved for cheaper, ffp, mrad lpvos, and mrad lpvos in general. An affordable ffp lpvo that would have applications on a .17hmr varmiter, light weight bolt action hunting rifle, would have been fantastic. That alone makes it a no buy for a lot of guys who don't shoot .223/ run mrad on all their rifles.... Sticking with the pst2. But no 1-6 or ffp.
