There´s something about this Russian watch that is definitely appealing... Sure I´ve got my Seiko Monster, Invicta Pro Diver and Orient Mako, but somehow I keep coming back to this watch (wear it much more often).

These Russian watches are also smartly designed. Lots of wise features that other companies could learn from.....especially the castle ring that holds the case back on.....keeps the case back from binding up the seal, and provides a more watertight fit.

The first Vostok I bought was a blue 110 case. Then I got a black scuba dude 710, and the 710 is now my favorite out of all the Vostok designs. I've got four of them. I agree..... When modified with a good bezel and strap, they're pretty much the best dive watch out there under $100......and good looking to boot. I especially like the 710386 with the sea green dial. I put a Murphy bezel with green Seiko insert, then a green/black/red striped NATO strap on it........looks sweet.

EDC Gunner Its a Pepsi bezel. Got the bezel from a Ukrainian guy named Boris on EBay and the bezel insert from a guy in the Philippines. Like the leather strap on your watch. I went with rubber from a guy in Austria as I use mine when I dive.

Hey Gunner, my Amphibia finally arrived after almost a month. I got it for $61 on Ebay including shipping. I went with the 420 case. This watch, like my Komandirskie, is keeping accurate time to the second. This just amazes me. I had to take out a few links to get the band for fit, but now it's ok. I plan to replace the band soon anyway. Thanks for another great review my friend. I guess I will get the K35 model next.

I kept mine on the original bracelet. I also have the sailboat 710 on a blue sports leather strap. I will be getting the red blue bezel to swap on it. For summer beach lazing. But I will be keeping my Black scuba dude all original. I have this same bezel and it's my all year round go anywhere, fall in the canal drunk sort of watch! 710 ministry case is the best look for my taste.

Brilliant video of an exceptionally great value watch, many thanks for posting. Have you seen the Simon Crane videos where he puts his Vostok in the freezer at - 24° twice, then he puts it in the washing machine for an hour, then he drops that mother off a 60ft high viaduct bridge, then he runs it over with his Fiat Panda twice and that $60 watch is still going strong running about 15 seconds fast lol lol. If that isn't the best bang for buck automatic diver watch currently available then I'd love to know what is? Just ordered mine the one with the Scuba Dude and Pepsi Bezel. Don't know what Archie Luxury would make of it but who cares about what that loudmouth thinks anyway . At least you can buy this excellent little gem of a watch without wondering when the bailiffs are going to throw you out of your house lol. Love your videos man and hope you keep making them. I think with the custom black bezel it would look even better I I wont change the bezel , it takes away from the character of the watch and I dont feel like doing it :)

I bought an Amphibia for 55 € from Russia, but you must keep in mind, that you need to pay *customs duty* (the fee to your goverment), in Germany f.e. it is *14 %* of the product, including shipping. Calculation: Watch: 55 € Shipping: 15 € 55 + 15 = 70 € Customs Duty: 9,80 € *Total:* 79,80 € That is of course still a very competive price and absolutly worth it.

I was also considering changing the back case with a glass one to view the watch movement but then I found out that the water resistance would be lost so I am now going to that anymore.

Great watch and review! As I said in other of Your videos I got a Vostok that I bought in 1998 and runs excellent. I have no needs to change it. My watch case is 420 model and 40mm diameter, but my favorite case is this 710 (ministry). Maybe someday... ;) And "YES" this is a lot of watch for that price!

Bracelets are totally good. not GOOD/HIGH QUALITY! I got a strapcode super oysta on my SKX007 watch, yup. thats a high quality metal bracelet. But the stock bracelets are fine. they work without problems OK... just not greatest. Yep seiko 5 is more classic not so much diving watch. Amphibian diver. btw. theres also russian STRELA :O do you know that? I want that watch. its like a chronograph chronometre. It's like the omega speedmaster Moonwatch, but the russian strellah... strela. check it out :p. 500-700€ price. and omega speedie costs 3500€ here.

But if you like mechanical watches like I do then the Vostoc Self Winding Amphibians are tough to beat. They are tough as dirt and nothing come close for the price, even twice or three times the price. Also cool you can mod them in a thousand different ways... Whats not to like?
